This is an exciting opportunity to join HMRC’s CDIO Tax, Benefits & Enterprise Operations (TB & EOps), working in the Change and Assurance team. The team assures change and maintenance deliveries across the Platform IT contract ensuring live service integrity is maintained during any IT change. You will be involved in identifying, defining, and agreeing the assurance approach, including depth and breadth of your team’s involvement to undertake platform-based, delivery focused assurance across a portfolio of the high risk/impact ETMP deliveries. The team also undertake delivery management of projects up to a value of around £500,000 whole life cost. This is defined as a small change. Required : SOC Analyst Location : Full time on site in Bracknell Duration : 6 Months + 24/7 shift working Shift : 4 week rotation. Across 4 weeks there are 3 shift cycles . Shift pattern 1 : 2 days 3 nights 4 off Shift pattern 2 : 3 days 2 nights 5 off Shift pattern 3: 2 days 2 nights 5 off Mandatory Skills: * Experience in managing/leading teams * Knowledge and experience of Cyber Security and using a SIEM tool e.g LogRhythm. * Vulnerability management and assessment * knowledge and experience of Operating Systems. * Knowledge and experience of ITIL v3 onwards * Knowledge and experience of Networking principles such as DNS and DHCP * Proactively monitor various sources for the latest information on vulnerabilities and threats. OSINT * Identification of incidents and subsequent analysis and investigation to determine their severity and the response required. Ensuring that incidents are correctly reported and documented in accordance with government policy and procedures. * Be prepared to provide a Technical Escalation Point during security incidents, establishing the extent of an attack, the business impacts, and advising on how best to contain the incident along with advice on systems hardening and mitigation measures to prevent a re-occurrence. * As required support the customer with the creation of reports and dashboards, manage alarms and usage cases * Maintain a keen understanding of evolving threats and vulnerabilities to ensure the security of the client network. * As required update Protective Monitoring/SOC documentation, processes and procedures and ensure currency. * Provide daily team leadership, management, job training and mentorship to develop junior members of the SOC team Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply.
