IT Support Technician Purpose The role of IT Support Technician will lead and manage all day-to-day IT 2 and 3 line support activities for Schools. The IT Support Technician will liaise with School staff, the IT Service Desk and other 3 line support teams to identify, prioritise, own and resolve all IT support and service requests. Maintain site documentation, including hardware and software inventories, to ensure accuracy of information, legal and financial compliance. Manage staff and student user accounts following agreed policies and procedures. Monitor and maintain server back-ups to ensure system and user data is protected and secure. Monitor IT (physical and network) security and report any risks or incidents to School Head teachers, IT Manager Any other reasonably requested duties Person Specification Exceptional customer service and communication skills, including written and verbal. Excellent interpersonal skills including communicating effectively and professionally with people at all levels of the organization. Effective communication skills in a technical respect with other IT professionals, and in non-technical terms with other colleagues Self-motivation, effective time management and the ability to work unsupervised. Must be able to use initiative and work under pressure, consistently employing a customer centric approach to resolving all IT issues. Demonstrable methodical problem solving, excellent analytical skills and creative thinking. Able to demonstrate good judgement and decision-making skills in resolving issues in challenging situations, knowing when to sign post, escalate and resolve issues. Experience in establishing new processes and procedures as well as following those already in place and always looking for improvements. A desire to, and demonstrable experience of supporting teaching and learning Project team member skills Effective engagement with IT service partners and 3rd parties A clean UK driving license. ITIL preferred but not essential. IT Infrastructure Support Engineer Our Client a bank based in Central London is looking to recruit a bright talented individual as an IT Infrastructure Support Analyst with circa 5 to 6 years IT Support experience. You will have at least to 5 to 6 years hands-on experience within IT Infrastructure ideally from the Banking or Financial arena. Must have in-depth knowledge of troubleshooting experience with Windows, Office365 and ideally Banking applications and conferencing applications. The Client is rolling out MS Windows 11 and would therefore like to recruit an individual with these skills. You will be responsible for the support and maintenance of the IT infrastructure for the Branch and to provide IT support to staff. To assist in the response to service outages and other IT related problems as well as maintenance and upkeep of for security of the systems in place. Business Performance duties · Familiarity with core banking systems or financial applications · Provide first/Second level support for hardware, software, and network-related issues and working knowledge of VMWare. · Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, Phones/Mobiles and other IT equipment. · Laptop imaging experience needed (WIM USB, MDT, SCCM, Intune, AutoPilot) – Image creation, management and deployments. · Assist in user account management in Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Sharepoint, Onedrive, Teams, and banking systems · Networking Fundamentals – DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and LAN/WAN. · Understanding of cybersecurity measures. · Perform routine system backups and assist with disaster recovery operations. · Monitor system performance and report abnormalities to senior IT staff · Assist with software updates, patches, and antivirus management. · Exposure to following Fortinet solutions – fortigate, forticlient VPN, Symantec Endpoint Protection & Encryption, Bitlocker, SentinelOne, Cisco Switches, Tenable, Group policy, ManageEngine, Nagios, MFA · Document IT procedures and maintain technical documentation relating to role. Working closely with the IT Manager and various business units, you will help strengthen compliance and regulatory risk management through effective management information (MI) reporting and analytical insights. The Client would ideally like you to have experience of Network Engineering in addition to the Data Engineering skills. Ideally have the following skills LAN/WAN Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows and Linux server environments. · Manage VMware virtualized infrastructure (vSphere 8 and above). · Oversee enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions using Veeam Backup & Replication. · Manage Veeam ONE monitoring and Veeam Recovery Orchestrator (VRO) environments. · Administer endpoint security and encryption solutions, including Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) and Symantec Endpoint Encryption (SEE). · Support endpoint DLP, SIEM, and security monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Tenable). · Manage patching processes using Manage Engine Patch Manager Plus. · Support Microsoft 365 services and related cloud technologies. The candidate must have strong technical expertise in Windows/Linux, VMware, Microsoft 365, networking, cybersecurity, and infrastructure management who also enjoys solving complex challenges and driving operational excellence Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance the Branch's digital data infrastructure to ensure reliability and accessibility. Deliver accurate and timely data extraction, MI analysis, and reporting to support operational, compliance, and regulatory needs. Work collaboratively with IT and business departments to understand data requirements and provide analytical support. Explore, evaluate, and propose new technologies/tools to improve data management, governance, and reporting efficiency. Ensure data integrity and support the implementation of best practices in data governance. Assist in identifying and managing data-related risks, supporting the Branch's compliance and regulatory frameworks. Must have: Strong analytical skills with experience in data extraction, transformation, and reporting. Proficiency in SQL Server, data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and data management technologies. Understanding of data governance, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirements (banking/financial sector experience a plus). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex information clearly.
