DV Infrastructure/Software Engineer Office days - minimum 3 Location - London, Manchester, Ipswich, and Cheltenham. Security - DV Rate £600 - £750 Inside IR35 We have lots of roles available at different seniority levels. Accountabilities will vary depending on role, but will follow these principles: * Own and deliver engineering platform capabilities that enable teams to build, test, secure, and deploy services in a highly-automated, CI/CD-driven environment. * Design, implement, and evolve CI/CD pipelines, ensuring consistent, reliable, and repeatable delivery processes across multiple teams and services. * Embed Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices, driving standardisation, scalability, and elimination of manual provisioning and configuration drift. * Integrate security controls into engineering workflows, ensuring services are secure by design and comply with the highest standards, from initial build through to production. * Support and enable engineering teams, providing guidance, tooling, and best practices to improve delivery velocity, quality, and resilience. * Continuously optimise automation, identifying opportunities to remove repetitive manual tasks, reduce cycle times and improve developer experience. * Collaborate across development, security, and operations spheres, breaking down silos and promoting end-to-end ownership of services. * Maintain and improve engineering tooling and platforms, including source-code control systems, build systems, artifact repositories and deployment frameworks. * Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, automated testing, and observability. * Monitor and improve platform performance and reliability, using metrics such as deployment frequency, lead-time, failure rates, and recovery times. * Contribute to technical standards and governance, ensuring consistency, security, and best-practice across engineering teams. * Support incident response and problem resolution, ensuring rapid recovery and continuous improvement through feedback loops and retrospective sessions. * Document and share knowledge, building reusable patterns, templates and guidance in order to scale up engineering capability. We are looking for a DV cleared Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing operations support team. The preferred candidate will demonstrate effective application of Infrastructure and extensive knowledge across a variety of technologies such as Linux (Ubuntu / CentOS), Microsoft Windows Server (including services such as AD, DNS, DHCP) and virtualisation (Hyper-V), Microsoft Stack Technologies (Sharepoint, SQL Server, Skype for Business / Teams), networking technologies and storage. The role will provide technical exposure variance across both outcomes based project activities and operational (Business as Usual) support activities. The duties of the role will also include providing remote and on-site support. There is also a requirement to provide out of hours on call support. You will be expected to contribute towards the creation and ongoing maintenance of technical documentation and provide material to support the project work or the operational support service. Experience includes: - Have excellent knowledge of Virtualized Environments such as VMware and Hyper-V; - Have excellent knowledge of Windows Server Environments, from Server 2003 - 2019, including OS build, AD, DNS, DHCP and GPO from design to implementation and support; - Have strong Linux system administration skills (Ubuntu / CentOS); - Have good general knowledge of TCP/IP and networking technologies including load balancing and firewalls; - Have good general knowledge of Microsoft stack technologies such as SharePoint, Skype for Business / Teams, MS SQL, MS System Centre, Office365, MS Exchange & CLI tooling such as PowerShell; - Have good general knowledge of SAN storage technologies; - Have excellent analysis and problem solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents ensuring these are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer; - Possess excellent communication skills; - Have experience of producing and updating technical documentation to a high standard; Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply.
