This role is responsible for maintaining accurate and auditable asset inventories, ensuring software licence compliance, supporting procurement and vendor management activities, and driving optimisation of IT asset utilisation and cost efficiency. The successful candidate will work closely with IT Operations, Service Management, Procurement, Security, Finance, and external vendors to ensure strong governance, compliance, and operational effectiveness across the IT estate. The role also requires the development and continuous improvement of ITAM processes, standards, and reporting capabilities in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.

The Cloud Architect is responsible for analysing existing on-premise systems and designing, planning, and supporting their migration into a secure, scalable, and cloud-native environment. The role focuses on modernising architectures, leveraging managed services, and ensuring migrations deliver measurable business and technical benefits, while working closely with technical stakeholders across multiple teams. Key Responsibilities Discovery & Analysis - Analyse existing on-premise infrastructure, applications, and integrations, including compute, storage, networking, security, and operational processes. - Classify workloads using recognised migration strategies (e.g. 6Rs: Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Retire, Retain, Replace). - Capture non-functional requirements including availability, performance, security, compliance, and cost considerations. Cloud Architecture & Design - Design target-state architectures aligned with cloud-native best practices. - Define architectures leveraging AWS services such as: Compute, Networking, Storage & Data, Security, and Observability. - Produce clear architecture artefacts including diagrams, ADRs, migration runbooks, and landing zone designs. Migration Planning & Execution - Create and maintain migration plans and roadmaps, including sequencing, dependencies, risks, and rollback strategies. - Support or lead migration activities including environment build, application migration, data migration, and cutover support. - Ensure cloud environments are secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-optimised. Skills & Experience Essential Strong experience with on-premise infrastructure (VMware, physical servers, networking, storage). Proven experience designing and delivering cloud architectures. Deep understanding of core cloud services, networking, and security. Experience working closely with technical stakeholders across multiple disciplines. Strong communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts clearly. Desirable Experience with containerisation and orchestration platforms (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent technologies). Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using industry-standard tools (e.g. Terraform, ARM, Bicep, Pulumi, or similar). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling, supporting automated build, test, and deployment workflows. 2nd/3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer MoD Corsham Role Summary This role provides for the advanced operational support, maintenance and development of a secure MoD platform, working as part of a team based at MoD Corsham. The position involves working across a complex technical estate to ensure platform availability and resilience, while supporting change and continuous service improvement. The role requires DV clearance and sole UK nationality. Key Responsibilities The Infrastructure Engineer will be expected to provide technical support to incident, problem and change management across production and non production environments. . Administer Windows based systems, including patching and configuration management. . Support Citrix and virtualised platforms such as VMWare vSphere and vRealize Automation. . Monitor and maintain system health using tools including SCOM and other enterprise monitoring solutions. . Collaborate with adjacent teams (e.g, Application Support Provider, IaaS provider) to provide reliable, resilient and secure services. . Conduct root cause analysis and the resolution of complex platform issues. Essential Skills and Background Experience in 2nd/3rd line engineering roles within secure Defence environments. . Highly proficient in Windows Server administration, and familiar with SCOM and MECM. . Experienced in the deployment and support of VMWare and Citrix solutions. . Hands on experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management. Desirable Skills . Proficiency with Linux (RHEL/CentOS) in the support context. . Familiarity with Trend, Nessus or similar security tooling. . Knowledge of backup and DPKI solutions. . Awareness of trust relationships and secure enterprise architectures. . Prior experience working with Defence Digital and knowledge of policies including JSP453. . Prior experience delivering support within an ITIL based service management model. .
