Mechanical Design & Process Engineer

A global medical device company are looking for Mechanical Design and Process Development Engineer with equipment design and prototyping experience. The ideal candidate will have experience designing medical mechanical equipment, as part of a new exploratory project, with some exposure to electronics. This role requires a hands-on, self-driven individual who is comfortable managing the full equipment lifecycle, from concept through to validation. A solid understanding of mechanical design principles and process development within the medical device sector is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach to learning, adaptability, and the ability to work independently while valuing the importance of validation and quality standards. This role will focus on design initially and the role will expand as you get embedded into the project. You'll need an attitude to learn new areas quickly, proactively and often autonomously, there will be support still. Essential skills required: Mechanical Design Passion for prototyping Process development experience Qualifying equipment and tooling instruments Medical devices experience The start date is ASAP. The initial contract is for 12 months, with multiple extension options. The role is based in Galway and will require 5 days onsite per week, remote work can be looked at after the first 6 months. Senior Labview Engineer

A global medical device company are looking for a Senior Test Engineer to join their Process Development teams on a contract basis. Your role will be to help build R&D test systems from the ground up. For the work that doesn't need to be done from scratch, some of the work will have been started already, you will need to take it to the next level. You will also be updating the R&D test systems from a LabView test requirement. There is an expectation of 2-3 days on-site per week, the rest of the work can be done remotely. Initially you will need to come onsite to meet the team and understand what is required for the project. This will give you insight into what the current test system is doing, you will be able to discuss with the other engineers there and then you can cycle through the processes to push out improvements and updates. These test systems will need to be built up and developed with additional capabilities to be added too. Essential skills: Demonstrated capability in Labview Test and duration experience Good understanding of electronics The start date is for ASAP. The initial contract length is for 12 months, with multiple extension options after. The role is based in County Tipperary and will require 2-3 days onsite per week minimum, the rest of the time you can work remotely. You will provide support in materials science, process development, failure analysis, and new product development. This role is central to enabling high product performance, supporting manufacturing and quality teams, and accelerating innovation through advanced materials and process characterisation. Key Responsibilities: Conduct advanced materials and process characterization to support new product development, R&D, manufacturing, and quality initiatives. Perform failure analysis, contamination investigations, material supplier comparisons, and integrity assessments. Operate, maintain, and interpret results from a broad range of analytical and testing equipment, including but not limited to: Imaging and microscopy systems (CT/SEM) Spectroscopy and compositional analysis tools (EDX/FTIR) Mechanical and physical property testing instruments Thermal analysis equipment (DSC) Surface and dimensional measurement systems Prepare and analyse samples according to best practices, ensuring accurate and reliable results. Document and communicate findings through technical reports and presentations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development, manufacturing, and quality improvement.
