Please see below for role description and details. - Hybrid, 2 days per week on site in Swansea, Wales - Inside IR35 - SC clearance required - 3-6 months initially + longer extensions expected Role details: To migrate legacy IMPALA reporting (Oracle materialised views and Discoverer workbooks) to Databricks Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines. The work involves translating existing SQL logic into a lakehouse architecture, building reconciliation checks to validate output against the legacy system, and supporting the pipelines once live. It is mostly SQL knowledge but some familiarity with Python on Databricks (in Azure) will be beneficial. Source data is already available in Databricks - you would be working with tables in Unity Catalog, not managing data ingestion or connectivity. Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply. Database Engineer with SQL Server and SSIS Our Client is a bank based in Central London who are looking to recruit a Database Engineer with the ability to work with SSIS. Responsible for the development and delivery of new systems to automate and streamline processes required by different departments. To support the internal IT department with changes and upgrades to software platforms. To be primary contact for all technical questions relating to in-house bespoke systems and interfacing. Database Support Supporting budgeting and financial planning processes for Finance department, including loading and refreshing of data based on requirements. Understand and conduct the front-end functionality to amend and change hierarchical structures within the environment. Debug and analyse errors and anomalies within Hyperion system as raised by Finance and to pinpoint areas of failure and correct any issues. Liaise with Finance on a daily basis to ensure smooth running of the Hyperion environment. Build data flows within the SQL environment in SSIS packages. Risk & Regulatory Duties Maintain knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements including the Bank's Risk and Compliance policies and procedures and adhere to these to avoid exposing the Bank to undue risk. Report policy/procedure breaches and areas of potential non-compliance and suspicions promptly upon identification in accordance with the Bank's Risk and Compliance policies. Accurately execute all controls within own area to minimise risk of policy, procedure, and/or regulatory breaches. Identify new risks/control gaps within own area and escalate accordingly to your Line Manager and/or Head of Department. Qualifications/Experience Degree level qualified or equivalent. SQL Programming. Knowledge and Skills Software analysis and design. SQL query language. Data warehouse design concepts, (Inmon or Kimball) Must have solid experience of working with SSIS and building data warehouses and some knowledge of reporting using SSRS. SQL Server Database Engineer with SSIS Our Client is bank based in Central London – who are looking to recruit Database Engineer with at least 5 to 7 years sold expertise of working SQL Server SSIS and SSRS. Responsible for the development and delivery of pipelines (collect, validate and prepare high quality data) to automate and streamline processes required by different departments. Support existing SSIS ETLs (overnight and intraday), proactively fine-tune and enhance existing codes to increase robustness and error monitoring. Support the internal IT department with changes and upgrades to software platforms. Convert legacy Hyperion reports to SSRS. Software Development: Analysis of issues pertaining to problems or errors raised by in-house systems, i.e. CORE, SharePoint interface, Equation end of day cycle. Understanding business requirements in order to develop and deliver appropriate solutions based on system definition documents. Proficiency in advanced 4GL programming languages and able to apply to the fully development life-cycle. Database Support To build data pipelines within the SQL environment in SSIS packages, where required, introduce new field and data types for new information to be collated in the CORE environment. To build tabular models (SSAS) for different business units. To build reports based on business requirements using SQL SSRS. To integrate with all the Bank's sub-systems using data abstraction and connectivity layers, i.e. ODBC, ADO.net. Ensure that the environment is running optimally and with high standard house-keeping procedures. Sharepoint Integration: To integrate the SharePoint environment and Forms with Equation system to introduce automation of processes thereby eliminating the need for duplicate entry. To utilise web services to integrate from cutting edge technology into legacy systems such as Equation. End of Day Cycle: To provide second and third level support for in-house programmes during the end of day cycle. To be able to analyse and rectify any problems raised in an independent and team scenario. To take ownership of a problem and deliver a solution in a timely manner. Provide out of office hours support. AI-Native Systems Engineer We are looking for an AI-Native Systems Engineer. You will combine deep systems engineering expertise with AI-native delivery practices to design, validate and deliver solutions through small, highly capable teams augmented by AI agents.
