The Health Physics Team: As a Health Physics Monitor you will be reporting to the Senior Engineer (Shift leader), working an appropriate shift pattern to provide 24/7 site support, in an overall team of approx. 24 employees across the professional & operational staff grades of Health Physicists & Senior Engineers, Engineers & technicians. In this role you will have the opportunity to support and professionally development yourself as well as support across various different programmes. The team has a diverse level of knowledge and skills to ensure continuous support to all submarine and facility build and commissioning phases, ensuring adequate radiation protection assurance and advice to protect people, the environment & product. BOMS Monitoring Engineer 📍 Hybrid - 2 days/week in Telford | 💼 Inside IR35 | 🔐 SC Clearance Required We're looking for a skilled Monitoring Engineer to join our Business Outcomes & Monitoring Solutions (BOMS) team-a centre of excellence delivering monitoring capabilities and tooling that support business intelligence and service assurance across multiple clients. In this role, you'll be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of robust monitoring solutions across diverse technologies and platforms. You'll enable real-time performance insights, service stability, and proactive incident management in dynamic environments. Key Responsibilities Translate non-functional monitoring requirements into actionable configurations using tools such as Splunk , Dynatrace , and AppDynamics Deliver full-stack observability, including log analytics , synthetic monitoring , infrastructure metrics , and network performance monitoring (NPM) Provide live support for monitoring tools and contribute to incident response, including support for key business events (some out-of-hours availability may be required) Collaborate with solution architects and project teams to embed monitoring into designs and testing strategies Maintain and enhance dashboards, alerts, and visualisations to enable proactive service management Support continuous improvement and optimisation of monitoring tools and processes Skills & Experience Strong background in IT infrastructure (Windows, Unix, Linux) and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools, especially Splunk , ITSI , Dynatrace , AppDynamics , and synthetic monitoring Familiarity with enterprise systems including WebLogic , Apache , Oracle , and SQL Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, with strong documentation and communication skills Detail-oriented and collaborative, with a proactive approach to service excellence Desirable Certifications Splunk Core Certified User / ITSI Certified Admin Dynatrace Associate Certification AppDynamics Associate Performance Analyst Familiarity with log analytics and synthetic monitoring best practices

Role Overview As a BOMS Monitoring Engineer, you will work within the Business Outcomes & Monitoring Solutions (BOMS) team-a multi-client centre of excellence delivering operational monitoring capabilities and tooling solutions that drive business intelligence and service assurance. Key Responsibilities * Translate high-level monitoring non-functional requirements (NFRs) into actionable configurations across tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and AppDynamics. * Deliver full-stack observability solutions, including application-aware network performance monitoring (NPM), synthetics, log analytics, and infrastructure metrics. * Provide live support for monitoring technologies and assist with live service support, including key business events and incident response (some KBE's may be out of hours). * Collaborate with architects and project teams to integrate monitoring into solution designs and test strategies. * Maintain and enhance dashboards, alerts, and visualisations to support proactive service management. * Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and tooling exploitation to enhance operational efficiency. Required Skills and Experience * Strong understanding of IT infrastructure (Windows, Unix, Linux) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). * Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Splunk ITSI, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, and synthetic monitoring platforms. * Familiarity with enterprise systems such as WebLogic, Apache, Oracle, and SQL. * Ability to analyse and resolve complex technical problems and document solutions effectively. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
