What you need to know about Active Directory

Active Directory (AD) is a centralized identity and network resource management service developed by Microsoft, integrated into Windows Server operating systems. It manages users, groups, computers, applications, and security policies within a corporate network. Through a domain-based architecture, AD facilitates user and machine authentication and authorization, while providing a hierarchical structure to organize resources. It integrates features such as DNS, Group Policies (GPO), and integration with cloud services like Azure Active Directory. AD is essential for professional environments where efficient management of access rights, security, and resources is paramount.
