This role sits within an operational engineering team focused on reliability, automation, cloud infrastructure, and platform support. The position combines elements of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, and software development, requiring a strong AWS background alongside the ability to contribute to C# development activities. The successful candidate will work closely with development, infrastructure, and support teams to enhance platform stability, automate processes, and improve operational efficiency across cloud-based environments. Key Responsibilities * Support and enhance AWS-hosted applications and infrastructure. * Drive DevOps best practices, including CI/CD automation and Infrastructure as Code. * Contribute to Site Reliability Engineering initiatives, focusing on system resilience, monitoring, and performance. * Develop and maintain tools, services, and automation solutions using C#/.NET. * Troubleshoot production issues and identify opportunities for operational improvement. * Work collaboratively with development teams to ensure reliable and scalable deployments. * Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions across cloud environments. * Participate in incident management and root cause analysis activities. Essential Skills & Experience * Strong commercial experience with AWS Cloud technologies. * Proven background in DevOps engineering and automation. * Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code. * Hands-on experience with C#/.NET development. * Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices. * Experience supporting production environments and resolving complex technical issues. * Minimum 5 years' recent, relevant industry experience. Desirable Skills * Experience within Financial Services environments. * Knowledge of cloud security and governance best practices. * Experience with containerisation technologies and orchestration platforms. * Familiarity with monitoring and observability tooling. DevOps Engineer - Remote Working with occasional site visits Must have an Active SC Clearance - Support platform enhancements, service onboarding, incident investigation and operational improvements. DevOps Engineer Responsibilities - Develop, implement and maintain DevOps and platform engineering solutions supporting Dynatrace and associated observability services. - Deliver infrastructure and configuration changes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC). - Implement automated deployment pipelines using source control, peer reviews and testing. - Support cloud infrastructure and integrations across AWS and Azure environments. - Build and maintain monitoring, logging, tracing, dashboards and actionable alerting capabilities. - Support platform onboarding, integration testing and deployment verification. - Investigate technical incidents and resolve infrastructure or integration issues. - Apply security controls, least-privilege access and secure configuration practices. - Manage production releases, including rollback planning and operational validation. - Develop technical documentation, operational runbooks and engineering guidance. - Collaborate with architects, security specialists, engineering teams and service management stakeholders. - Ensure engineering changes comply with approved architecture, technical standards and governance requirements. DevOps Engineer Skills and Experience - Proven DevOps, platform engineering or infrastructure automation experience. - Strong experience using version control, peer review and automated CI/CD deployment pipelines. - Hands-on Infrastructure as Code or Configuration as Code experience using Terraform or comparable declarative automation tools. - Experience implementing and supporting cloud infrastructure within AWS or Azure. - Strong understanding of cloud identity, connectivity, security and operational requirements. - Practical experience implementing or supporting observability and monitoring platforms. - Experience working with metrics, logs, traces, events, dashboards and alerting. - Proven experience testing, deploying and supporting changes within live production environments. - Strong troubleshooting, incident investigation and technical problem-solving capabilities. - Experience applying security principles, including least-privilege access and secure configuration. - Ability to produce technical documentation, operational runbooks and deployment evidence. - Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary engineering teams. - Ability to work within established architecture and engineering standards while escalating complex technical decisions.
