This is an exciting opportunity in the Digital and Technology directorate for an enthusiastic Lead DevOps Engineer with excellent leadership and technical skills who can support and develop Companies House systems. You will be customer and service focused with particular attention on service availability, problems solving and root cause analysis. We promote a "Team" first approach with everyone pulling together to achieve the best results. You will join a large, diverse team of engineers with a broad range of skills and domain knowledge. You will be responsible for leading technically and have direct input into the long-term operational strategy and tooling to support a continuous delivery approach within Companies House. You will have a track record of coaching and mentoring other IT professionals and be able to network and engage with stakeholders to deliver improvements. You will ensure that value is delivered through improvement and automation of Companies House's systems, including infrastructure, tooling, upgrade paths, configuration, performance monitoring / alerting / tuning. The team support and develop a number of Companies House internal customer facing services, and associated backend processing systems, as well as external facing bulk data products. These include systems that allow customers to search and update the company register. Our team are working in a flexible hybrid approach, combining both home and office-based working. Remote contracts will only be offered to successful candidates who are not a commutable distance to our Cardiff, Belfast or Edinburgh offices. If you are located at a reasonable distance to one our offices, you will receive a hybrid contract aligned to one of our offices.
