Cyber Security Manager Our Client to be secured and protected from increased cyber threats and compliant to industry standards. This role covers information protection, including data loss protection and data classification, and threat protection, including security information and event management (SIEM), user and entity behaviour analytics (UEBA), point products like anti-virus (AV) and intrusion detection system/intrusion prevention system (IDS/IPS) and penetration testing. The Service Delivery team consists of approximately 20 staff who support and operate the Company’s services and there is an opportunity in that team for a Cyber Security Manager to oversee and govern all security services. Reporting Lines This role reports to Head of Service Delivery Main Accountabilities • Technical leadership for all security solutions, including all the 3rd party managed services • Maintain the overall security of Company’s network, systems, and data • Monitor security access and manage IDS/IPS configurations • Establishing and implementing security best-practice standards as well as departmental policies and procedures • Responsible for Security scanning and the efficient remediation of vulnerabilities • Responsible for analysing all security incidents to determine root cause • Determine, recommend, and implement upgrade security measures and controls • Delivery security responses for customer and client compliance requirements • Developing and managing security plans with vendors • Audit activities of administrators and conduct Security awareness training Requirements • Demonstrable skills and capability in Security leadership and 3rd party management experience • CISSP certification preferred. Compliance knowledge required in ISO27001, PCI and GDPR. Job description Key responsibilities: Technical Architecture Design Develop and maintain a comprehensive Technical Architecture Reference Model that aligns with the IT strategy, government policies, and best practices. Lead the development and maintenance of the technical architecture roadmap, with particular emphasis on cloud migration strategies and hybrid infrastructure to support wider Agency objectives. Provide technical governance and oversight across IT projects, ensuring solutions meet security, scalability, and compliance requirements specific to UK public sector standards (including GDS standards and Technology Code of Practice). Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, cloud services, and architectural patterns that could benefit the Agency, maintaining awareness of technology trends and best practices. Mentor and guide development teams, project managers, and other technical staff, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence while ensuring knowledge transfer across the Agency. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration Act as the Lead Technical Architect for project teams, providing expert guidance on requirements, design considerations, and risk management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical architecture is integrated into all aspects of the Agency’s digital transformation initiatives. Influence and educate technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels, and across organisations, using architecture communication techniques​. Mediate between people in difficult architectural discussions. Innovation and Continuous Improvement Proactively identify opportunities to improve the technical architecture and reduce risk through innovation, new technologies, and process improvements. The Army Digital Services (ADS) organisation is part of the Chief Technology Office (CTO) part of the Directorate of Information within Army Headquarters Andover. ADS is the Army's supplier of choice for the design, development and support of applications and services to provide digital enablement of the Army's processes. Foster collaboration within cross-functional teams to drive Army-wide digital transformation, ensuring stakeholder alignment Continuous Improvement - Drive continuous improvement in platform delivery processes and internal working practices. Implement initiatives that enhance efficiency, maximise outputs, and support Army digital objectives Contract and Financial Management - Manage complex supplier relationships to ensure the efficient delivery of digital services and products in line with contractual agreements.
