The Role – Technical Graduate - Geospatial Software Engineer As a Geospatial Software Engineer you will join CGI on the Technical Graduate programme joining our team with a focus on ESRI and open-source technologies. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on ground breaking projects that leverage the power of both ESRI's ArcGIS platform and open-source geospatial tools to address complex challenges and drive innovation.

As a Senior Technical Architect, your main responsibilities will include: Defining, maintaining, and championing the technical strategy for a service or group of services - keeping up to date with the latest technologies and trends, whilst delivering working software early and often. Leading technical specialists in multiple projects and services, on problems that require broad architectural thinking. Defining how to build and operate user-centred, open-source web systems in an agile environment, to serve a variety of citizen and government needs. Being responsible for the technical design and development of services in your programme, including how they interact with their surroundings, and how they evolve over time. Challenging entrenched practices and influencing decision-makers, looking for deeper underlying problems to solve, and larger opportunities for digital transformation. Communicating the vision for government services to developers and non-developers alike, working in multi-disciplinary teams that bring policy and delivery together. Playing an active role in the DfE architecture community, where you will share knowledge of tools and techniques, as well as joining related communities of practice and events where appropriate, such as product, user research, design, platforms, security, etc. Helping to build a diverse, inclusive culture across the technical architecture community. Working with colleagues and peers on profession-based activities (and cross-profession), such as defining standards and guidance around best practice.

Our client is looking for a Data Scientist/Engineer to work on an initial 6 month contract, Outside IR35. This would be working on a hybrid basis in Milton Keynes, and candidates would require an active DV clearance prior to starting the role. Key Qualifications * Must have proficient skills working on Large Language Models (LLMs). * Proficiency in evaluating, deploying and using on premise open source technology stacks. * Proficiency in Azure Cognitive Services, which includes Azure Language Service, Azure Text Analytics, Azure Speech Service, and other AI-related offerings. * A good understanding of OpenAI's GPT models and how it integrates with Azure services. This includes knowledge of GPT's capabilities, limitations, and available features. * Strong programming skills in Python for working with Azure services and data manipulation. * Good understanding of databases e.g. Postgres * Proficient knowledge of back-end programming languages like NodeJS, Python and/or Golang * Proficient knowledge on one of front-end technologies like React or Angular * Hands on technical Skills related to Backend development. * Experience with AWS and GCP is an added advantage. * Demonstrated Cluster Management knowledge and experience using platforms including - Kubernetes, Rancher, Helm, Docker * Familiarity with Figma for UI Mockups * Cloud certification at a developer or equivalent level is an added advantage. * Azure AI Certification or equivalent is an added advantage. * Familiarity with Data engineering and Machine learning models Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply. Java Middleware Software Developer Someone who has excellent Java skills, Spring MVC, Apache CXF, Dozer (a fast and flexible framework for mapping back and forth between Java Beans) & XML: A minimum of 5 years’ work experience in Software Development Experience with implementing service-oriented architecture (SOA) Designs and develops Enterprise application integration (EAI) using any ESB products like Fuse, Camel, TIBCO, IBM message broker Designs and develops ESB/SOA/BPM middleware layers using tools like Mule ESB, jBPM Experienced in J2EE, Java Servlets, JMS, Design Patterns, Web services Solid hands-on experience in architecting and developing J2EE based web applications (JSP, Servlet, JDBC, JMS, JAXB) Expert level experience with SOAP and REST web services , open API development, and SOA concepts, using Spring with groovy, XML, JSON, and XSLT Solid understanding of integration & design patterns Gain adoption of platform delivery processes, standards and procedures Provide hands-on technical leadership throughout software development lifecycle (requirements gathering, Proof of Concept (POC) development, RFP creation and evaluation, design, development, implementation and close out) Experience in Database SQL Queries in Oracle Experience in Tomcat or WebLogic or Web sphere Ability to work independently in Agile Methodology (KanBan) Experience with different open source stacks including build & release processes like Maven, Ant, etc. Experience in JBOSS EAP or Tomcat or WebLogic or Web sphere,JBOSS EAP The position is based in Stratford East London.
