Service Desk Agent 24/7 Must have an Active DV Clearance Service Desk Agent 24/7 Responsibilities Provide technical support across Microsoft products, operating systems, networks, applications and PCs. Diagnose and resolve customer incidents and technical enquiries within agreed timescales. Take ownership of customer problems and escalate complex issues to appropriate technical teams. Follow established service management processes and accurately document actions and resolutions. Maintain service levels and ensure customer expectations and SLAs are achieved. Support more complex escalations and unexpected technical problems. Monitor service performance through reporting and analysis. Maintain Known Errors, Workarounds and fixes within the knowledge database. Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and existing support processes. Share technical knowledge and effective resolutions across the Service Desk team. Service Desk Agent 24/7 Skills and Experience Previous Service Desk, IT Support or technical support experience. Experience supporting Microsoft products, operating systems, networks, applications and PCs. Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience working within structured service management processes and SLA-driven environments. Ability to take ownership of incidents through to resolution or appropriate escalation. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to remain effective when working under pressure. Strong team-working skills with the ability to demonstrate initiative and personal ownership. Experience documenting technical resolutions, Known Errors and Workarounds. The Role: We're looking for a Telecoms Maintenance Engineer based in Fife to support customers across Scotland and the North of England. This is a field-based role focused primarily on telecoms and connectivity, with a basic IT support element. You'll install, maintain and troubleshoot hosted voice, telephony and connectivity solutions, attending both planned installations and reactive service calls. You'll become a trusted face for our partners, providing excellent customer service while taking ownership of incidents through to resolution. Travel is required, including occasional overnight stays. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have the right to work in the UK. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and resolve on-site telephony, voice and connectivity issues. Deliver handset deployments, telephony installations and moves/adds/changes. Install and troubleshoot SIP trunks, broadband circuits, routers, switches and firewalls. Carry out proactive maintenance visits and site health checks. Coordinate with carriers, suppliers and Openreach engineers. Provide basic first-line IT support for desktops, laptops, printers and Microsoft 365 queries. Own incidents through to resolution, escalating where required. Maintain accurate documentation within HaloPSA and ITGlue. Deliver excellent customer service and identify opportunities for improvement. Participate in a shared on-call rota. What We're Looking For Essential Minimum 2 years' experience in a telecoms, communications, MSP or field engineering role. Strong VoIP and hosted telephony experience. Understanding of SIP, RTP, NAT and networking fundamentals. Experience with routing, switching, VLANs, wireless and firewalls. Structured cabling, patching, testing and handset deployment experience. Strong customer-facing and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage your own workload. Full UK driving licence. Desirable Microsoft 365 and general IT support experience. Microsoft Teams Phone, Direct Routing and Operator Connect knowledge. Experience with Gamma, Horizon, CallSwitch, Yealink or similar platforms. Familiarity with SonicWall, UniFi, Aruba or DrayTek networking. CompTIA Network+, MS-900, AZ-900 or other relevant certifications. Experience using HaloPSA, ITGlue, Datto or similar MSP tools. Multiple Finance ERP systems implementations – in complex Regional or global brown-field environments. Experience of full software delivery lifecycle including capturing business requirements, developing solutions, user testing & training, post go-live support and optimisation. Experience of integrating Finance packages with other strategic solutions including CRM and eCommerce platforms. Experience of and/or qualifications in Project Management methodologies such as Prince 2, PMP, MSP and Agile. In-depth knowledge of MS Office toolset including Excel to an Advanced level.
