Job Title: iOS Developer Location: London (Hybrid) Contract Length: 12 Months Day Rate: £383 per day IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Overview We are seeking enthusiastic and capable iOS Developers to join a high-profile technology programme. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career developers who have strong coding skills and are looking to develop their experience within a collaborative, agile delivery environment. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on designing, building, testing, and maintaining native iOS applications. The position is suited to developers who enjoy solving technical problems, writing clean code, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality mobile solutions. These are individual contributor positions and do not require previous people management, team leadership, or line management experience. Key Responsibilities * Develop, maintain, and enhance native iOS applications using Swift. * Build responsive and user-friendly mobile interfaces using SwiftUI and/or UIKit. * Collaborate with product owners, designers, testers, and other developers to deliver new features and improvements. * Integrate applications with RESTful APIs and backend services. * Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices. * Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. * Support testing activities, bug fixing, and performance optimisation. * Ensure applications meet quality, security, accessibility, and usability standards. * Assist with application deployment, release activities, and ongoing support. Essential Skills & Experience * Commercial experience developing native iOS applications. * Strong programming skills in Swift. * Experience with SwiftUI, UIKit, or both. * Understanding of the iOS application lifecycle and mobile development best practices. * Experience consuming REST APIs and handling data within mobile applications. * Familiarity with source control systems such as Git. * Knowledge of Xcode and Apple's development ecosystem. * Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. * Good communication and collaboration abilities. Desirable Skills * Experience with XCTest or automated testing frameworks. * Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes. * Experience with Core Data or other local storage technologies. * Familiarity with accessibility standards for mobile applications. * Exposure to Agile or Scrum delivery environments. This is an excellent opportunity to join an independent Systems Engineering consultancy delivering complex programmes for major government and industrial clients. You will receive internal and external training, support towards professional accreditation and a personal development plan built around your long-term ambitions. The business operates across defence, civil nuclear, space and utilities, supporting projects from early research and concept development through to requirements, architecture, integration, verification and final acceptance. In this role, you will work directly with clients to understand complex problems, shape systems-engineering activities and deliver technical outputs. Projects may include concept studies, requirements development, system architecture, modelling, safety, integration and V&V, depending on your existing strengths. This position would suit an adaptable Systems Engineer who is comfortable with ambiguity, communicates confidently with different stakeholders and wants to develop into a trusted engineering consultant. The Role: *Deliver client-facing Systems Engineering across complex, regulated programmes *Support concept development, requirements, architecture, modelling and analysis *Contribute to integration, validation, qualification and acceptance activities *Take ownership of technical work packages, planning and stakeholder coordination *Work across defence, nuclear, space and utilities projects The Person: *Systems Engineering experience across one or more stages of the lifecycle *Background within defence, nuclear, aerospace or another complex engineering environment *Comfortable resolving ambiguity and communicating with clients and technical stakeholders *DOORS, MBSE, SysML, MODAF or similar tools and approaches beneficial *Technical degree or equivalent professional experience Hybrid working, normally involving three days per week split between the Thornbury office and client sites. Individual assignments may require additional client-site attendance, particularly during their early stages. Applicants must hold a driving licence and be willing to travel when required. We are investing in our technology, resilience and cyber security capability and are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Specialist to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a key role within our IT Governance & Security function. Acting as DB Cargo UK's cyber security subject matter expert, you will lead cyber security governance, operations, compliance and resilience activities across a diverse portfolio of business-critical applications, cloud services and operational railway systems. You will help ensure cyber security enables business performance, supports innovation and protects our people, customers and operations. Please note that successful candidates will need to go through national security vetting. What You Will Be Doing: Lead and continually improve cyber security governance, risk, compliance and resilience activities across the organisation. Own and maintain the Information Security Management System (ISMS), policies, standards and governance processes. Lead compliance with NIS Regulations, GDPR and DB Group security requirements. Manage cyber security operations including threat monitoring, incident response, threat intelligence and vulnerability management. Develop Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender XDR and associated security monitoring capabilities. Provide governance across Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Intune environments. Lead information protection, DLP, retention, eDiscovery and security assurance activities. Support customer assurance, procurement reviews, supplier risk assessments and tender submissions. Provide cyber security leadership for ERTMS and ETCS transformation programmes. Deliver cyber awareness initiatives and senior leadership reporting. What We Are Looking For: Demonstrable experience in cyber security, information security or IT risk management. Experience of security operations, incident response and security monitoring. Knowledge of governance, risk management, compliance frameworks and assurance processes. Experience securing cloud, endpoint and identity platforms, ideally within Microsoft environments. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Ability to balance security, operational requirements and commercial priorities.
