Key Responsibilities CI/CD Engineering: Build, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins to support automated build, test, and deployment workflows. Cloud Infrastructure: Design and manage cloud-native architectures-primarily on AWS or Azure-using IaC tooling including Terraform, CloudFormation. Automation & Scripting: Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational tasks using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar. Containerisation & Orchestration: Develop and maintain containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS/EKS), ensuring high availability, observability, and secure configuration. Platform Reliability: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, or CloudWatch to support SRE best practices. Security & Compliance: Embed security into pipelines and infrastructure, including secrets management, vulnerability scanning, least-privilege architecture, and identity management (e.g., IAM, RBAC). Collaboration & Agile Delivery: Work closely with software engineers, testers, cloud architects, and product teams to support agile delivery, improve developer experience, and enable continuous improvement. Incident Response & Operational Support: Provide operational support for platform services, contributing to incident management, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements. Skills & Experience Essential: Strong background in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure). Proficiency with Terraform or similar IaC technologies. Experience with Kubernetes in production environments. Strong understanding of CI/CD, automation, and deployment strategies. Knowledge of Linux systems engineering, networking fundamentals, and application security. Experience with Git-based workflows and modern DevOps toolchains. Desirable: Experience building or operating highly regulated or security-focused environments. Knowledge of service meshes, ingress controllers, or microservices patterns. Familiarity with configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef). Experience with zero-trust principles, identity federation, or secure architecture patterns. Exposure to serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda or Azure Functions.
