Job Title: Senior Planner Start Date: January 2026 Location: Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital Set up: 3 days per week (1-day wfh) IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Hybrid Working: 1 day WFH, 2 days on-site Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and update project programmes using Primavera P6 (or equivalent). Monitor progress against baseline schedules and report variances. Prepare and present weekly and monthly progress reports to stakeholders. Analyse critical paths and identify potential delays, providing mitigation strategies. Support project controls including cost and resource loading where required. Liaise with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate data collection. Assist in risk analysis and scenario planning for programme impacts. Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and client reporting standards. Contribute to tender planning and bid support if needed. Responsible for creating detailed Primavera P6 programmes from scratch, including defining work breakdown structures, sequencing activities, and integrating resources and milestones to establish a robust baseline schedule." Requirements Proven experience as a Senior Planner on large-scale construction projects. Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project. Knowledge of NEC contracts and healthcare sector experience desirable. Proven experience creating P6 plans from first principle Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. The role focuses on building Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and detailed, integrated schedules using Microsoft Project, providing a reliable planning and control baseline to support effective delivery, governance, and decision-making. Key Responsibilities Planning & Scheduling Develop and maintain deliverable-based Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) that accurately decompose scope into manageable work packages. Produce detailed, logically sequenced delivery plans in Microsoft Project, including: Task dependencies and network logic Critical path and float analysis Milestones, stage gates, and key decision points Resource assignment and levelling Schedule baselining and version control Ensure schedules are dependency-driven, based on validated assumptions and constraints, rather than date-driven planning. Integrate plans across multiple workstreams, suppliers, and business functions where required. Schedule Control & Analysis Maintain schedule integrity throughout the project lifecycle, incorporating approved changes in line with change control processes. Perform impact analysis for scope, sequencing, and resource changes, advising on schedule risk and mitigation options. Monitor progress against baseline, identifying slippage, emerging critical paths, and schedule compression risks. Support delivery teams with realistic forecasting and scenario planning. Governance, Risk & Reporting Provide accurate, evidence-based schedule reporting to project and programme leadership. Support RAID management by highlighting schedule-related risks, assumptions, and dependencies. Prepare planning artefacts for assurance reviews, audits, and stage-gate assessments. Ensure planning standards, templates, and planning assumptions are applied consistently. Expertise souhaitée French person, English-speaking or vice versa. I am looking for deep and wide experience. Someone who can build good work breakdown structure and then work with a team to build out the required plan and RAID log.
