1 Line Support – 8-Month Contract – Birmingham

VIQU has partnered with a public sector organisation in Birmingham seeking a 1 Line Support contractor to support an upcoming telephony rollout project, helping modernise communication systems across the organisation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build or strengthen their career in IT project work.

The role:

As 1 Line Support, you’ll be part of the team ensuring a smooth rollout of the new telephone systems. You’ll provide on-the-ground support and guidance to staff as they transition to updated telephony and Microsoft Teams solutions.

The successful 1 Line Support will get involved with:

• Auditing and mapping existing phones, checking locations against internal asset records
• Reviewing call and voicemail logs to identify usage patterns and highlight services that can be withdrawn to support cost savings
• Building, connecting, and configuring new phones with the correct extensions
• Providing general support and guidance — being approachable, answering questions, and guiding staff through the changes.

Key skills & experience:

• Confident communicator, comfortable working with stakeholders and staff at all levels
• Competent in Microsoft Excel – able to update trackers and manage spreadsheets effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general IT literacy
• Well organised and proactive – able to manage your workload independently

• Job role: 1 Line Support   
• Job type: Contract
• Duration: 8-month contract (till end of March 2026)
• Rate: £150 per day paid to Umbrella company
• Location: Birmingham
