Server Tooling and Orchestration Specialist - Remote - Outside IR35 Must have or be eligible to obtain SC Clearance The role combines hands-on SCORCH runbook development and troubleshooting with PowerShell automation and integrations across ServiceNow, SCOM, Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID. This position is suited to an experienced SCORCH specialist who understands enterprise automation and is comfortable taking ownership of critical production services within an ITIL-aligned environment. Server Tooling and Orchestration Specialist Responsibilities Administer, support and maintain Microsoft System Center Orchestrator (SCORCH) environments. Maintain the availability, health, performance and resilience of production and non-production SCORCH platforms. Design, maintain, test, deploy and optimise SCORCH runbooks. Develop and support PowerShell-based automation workflows for request fulfilment and operational automation. Diagnose failed automations, integration failures and workflow errors. Manage integrations between SCORCH, ServiceNow, SCOM, Active Directory, Azure AD / Entra ID, Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams. Support ServiceNow ITSM workflows, automated ticket creation, request fulfilment and REST API integrations. Support SCOM alert processing, event management and monitoring integrations. Plan and deliver patching, upgrades, releases, capacity management and platform lifecycle activities. Investigate incidents and problems affecting automation services and contribute to root cause analysis. Support service restoration and major incidents involving automation, monitoring or integration services. Produce and maintain operational documentation, runbook guidance, knowledge articles and support procedures. Deliver changes in line with ITIL processes, security controls, SLAs and agreed change windows. Server Tooling and Orchestration Specialist Skills and Experience Strong hands-on Microsoft System Center Orchestrator (SCORCH) experience is essential. Proven experience supporting, troubleshooting and maintaining SCORCH runbooks and automation services. Experience designing, testing and deploying Orchestrator runbooks within enterprise environments. Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation experience. Desirable Experience of ServiceNow Integration experience Experience with Kelverion Integration Packs would be advantageous. Experience with SQL Always On Availability Groups, Hyper-V Replica or highly available SCORCH architectures would be beneficial. VMware PowerCLI, virtualisation, hybrid Data Centre or wider infrastructure automation experience would be advantageous. Experience supporting secure, regulated or highly governed environments would be beneficial. Flexibility to support out-of-hours activities where required. Job Title: IT Maintenance Engineer Location: Plymouth office and field based, supporting partner locations as required Salary: £32,000 to £35,000 per annum (depending on experience) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Working Hours: 8.5 hours per day, 40 hours per week within our opening hours of 8am - 6pm with a 30-minute lunch. About the Role: The IT Maintenance Engineer is a hybrid field-based and remote support role based from the Plymouth office, responsible for maintaining, supporting and improving partner technology environments. The role combines proactive maintenance, infrastructure support, end-user support and basic communications engineering. Travel across the south-west of England is required, with a company van provided for business use. Key Responsibilities: Undertake scheduled maintenance visits to partner sites as required. Provide remote IT and communications support via phone, email and remote tools. Perform infrastructure health checks and preventative maintenance activities. Support Microsoft 365, Windows, networking and end-user technologies. Assist with VoIP, internet connectivity and telephony troubleshooting. Maintain accurate documentation and ticket updates within HaloPSA. Support project delivery, installations and technology refresh programs. Act as Flotek's on-site technical representative and trusted advisor. Travel Requirements: Regular travel to partner locations as required, primarily from the Plymouth office base, using a company-provided van. Full driving license required. Company van provided for business travel. The van is to be used in line with Flotek company vehicle policies. Occasional overnight stays may be required. About you: Essential Skills & Experience: 3+ years in MSP, Infrastructure, IT Support or Field Engineering. Strong Microsoft 365 administration and troubleshooting skills. Windows desktop and server support experience. Knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID. Networking fundamentals including switching, wireless, VLANs and firewalls. Excellent communications and documentation skills. Desirable Skills: VoIP and hosted telephony experience. Experience with Gamma, CallSwicth, and Teams Voice or similar platforms.
