In this varied role you will design, develop, and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native, implement clean and scalable code using TypeScript and JavaScript, integrate REST APIs and native modules, while contributing to planning and code reviews, and ensure adherence to security standards using Git-based workflows and CI/CD. The ideal candidate will have previous commercial React Native experience, strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and a solid awareness of secure coding standards. Experience with mobile state management, RESTful services, and Git is also required. Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML and CSS is beneficial. React Native developer - 12-month contract - Brussels Our important client is currently looking for a React Native developer for a 12-month contract based in Brussels. Hybrid role with 2 days onsite required Please find the description below: Senior React Native developer responsible for building, maintaining, and evolving complex mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms. A key contributor in ensuring scalability, reliability, and developer productivity through clean architecture, testing, and internal tooling. Tasks Conduct comprehensive PR reviews, enforcing coding standards, maintainability, and architectural consistency across the codebase. Lead accessibility development, ensuring compliance with accessibility guidelines and promoting inclusive design practices. Design and maintain third-party integrations, including Adobe, Digimobee, and Public Transport Offer (PTO) systems, enabling seamless interoperability with external services. Define and evolve the application architecture, component hierarchy, and code styling guidelines, ensuring scalability and long-term maintainability. Perform extensive unit and end-to-end (E2E) testing to guarantee app stability, reliability, and regression-free releases. Implement and maintain monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace and Instabug, improving visibility into performance, errors, and user experience in production. Build and maintain internal tools aimed at improving developer experience, automation, and team productivity throughout the development lifecycle. Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to align technical decisions with business and UX goals. Continuously drive performance optimization, build stability, and process improvements across the mobile ecosystem. Evaluation criteria: Proven experience with large-scale React Native applications. Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, state management (Redux, Context API, Recoil), and component-based architecture. Familiarity with native iOS and Android modules, build pipelines, and app store deployment processes. Demonstrated adherence to established coding guidelines. Experience conducting PR reviews and enforcing code consistency. Familiarity with linting, formatting, and architectural governance. Successful delivery of integrations with external services (e.g., Adobe, Digimobee, Public Transport Offer systems). Ability to troubleshoot, document, and maintain complex integrations. Proven track record of designing scalable mobile architectures. Experience with modularization, performance optimization, and long-term codebase maintenance. Demonstrated use of unit, integration, and E2E testing frameworks Experience maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps. Experience configuring and using observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Instabug, Firebase Crashlytics). Evidence of collaboration with product, design, and backend teams. Demonstrated history of driving improvements in app performance, build times, and developer workflows. Conformity Criteria A Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in React Native development Expertise in the seamless integration of mobile applications with BFF solutions Deep familiarity with Agile methodologies, emphasizing leadership, collaboration and rapid, iterative progress. Fluency in English is essential Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps Experience integrating automated tests into development workflow Consistently delivers well-tested, maintainable, and scalable code.
