Role Description

We are seeking a reliable, customer-facing Onsite AV Support Engineer to provide exceptional day-to-day technical support within a dynamic corporate environment. This role is hands-on and highly visible, ensuring the smooth running of all audio-visual (AV) systems and services across meeting spaces and boardrooms.

The successful candidate will act as the first responder to all AV incidents and service requests, perform proactive maintenance and testing, and support key daily meetings. You will also operate as a sound engineer in the main boardroom, ensuring clear and balanced audio for all participants through live sound management and uplift.

This role suits a dependable, punctual AV professional with strong technical understanding and a passion for delivering excellent user experiences in high-profile environments.

Key Responsibilities

Incident Response & User Support

  • Act as the first line of response for all AV incidents and requests.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve AV and video conferencing issues quickly and effectively.

  • Support users in meeting spaces, providing calm, professional assistance under pressure.

  • Liaise with remote technical teams and escalate issues where appropriate.

Proactive Maintenance & Testing

  • Perform daily and weekly proactive checks to ensure all AV systems are operational.

  • Test and document performance of AV equipment and room systems.

  • Carry out firmware updates, cable checks, and equipment cleaning as part of preventative maintenance routines.

Meeting Support & Live Operation

  • Set up and support key daily and high-profile meetings, ensuring all equipment, displays, and conferencing systems function seamlessly.

  • Provide in-room and remote support for Cisco Webex and Microsoft Teams meetings, ensuring a smooth hybrid meeting experience for all participants.

  • Operate as a live sound engineer in the main boardroom, managing audio balance, levels, and clarity so every participant can be heard clearly.

  • Manage microphones, sound uplift systems, DSPs, and conferencing hardware during live sessions.

  • Proactively monitor audio and video quality during meetings, making real-time adjustments as required.

  • Liaise with meeting organisers and presenters to ensure all AV requirements are prepared and tested in advance.

  • Support and monitor IPTV and triple play systems, ensuring live, streamed, and broadcast content functions correctly across all displays and distribution networks.

Customer Experience

  • Maintain a professional, approachable, and customer-first attitude at all times.

  • Communicate effectively with end-users, stakeholders, and management.

  • Ensure meeting spaces are always presented to a high standard.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

  • Proven experience supporting corporate AV environments in a customer-facing capacity.

  • Excellent knowledge of Cisco meeting room systems (Webex and RoomOS).

  • Strong understanding of audio fundamentals, including microphones, DSPs, and sound reinforcement.

  • Confidence in operating live sound in large meeting or boardroom environments.

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly under pressure.

  • Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or relevant work experience.

Desirable

  • Experience with Q-SYS audio systems (QSC).

  • Familiarity with Extron or Crestron control systems.

  • Knowledge of Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and hybrid meeting technologies.

  • AVIXA CTS or manufacturer-specific certification (e.g. Cisco, QSC, Extron).

More About You

  • Professional, courteous, and confident with excellent communication skills.

  • Calm and methodical under pressure.

  • Diligent, proactive, and always looking to prevent issues before they occur.

  • Takes pride in delivering a high-quality AV experience for every meeting.

  • Self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude and strong attention to detail.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a high-performing team supporting a leading organisation.

  • Work with cutting-edge AV and collaboration technologies.
