Our defence client is looking for an Automation & DevOps Engineer to work on an initial contract until the end of March 2026, with scope for long term extensions. The role would be based 2-3 days per week in the South West with work from home. An active SC/DV clearance would be required prior to start. Your role will mainly be using PowerShell V5 and V7 (Core), PowerCLI, Jenkins, Packer, Ansible and the Atlassian toolset. For future work, it will be advantageous to this role if you have experience in modern CI tools, such as GitLab CI and Terraform IAC tooling. It would be beneficial if you have experience with hands on usage of Aria Automation Platform. As all our work is version controlled with many components to build the product, experience of GitOps is mandatory. In order to deliver this service, it is essential that individuals have: * Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or relevant industry experience. * Strong proficiency in PowerShell. * Proficiency in Jenkins, or another common CI platform. * Good knowledge of Git VCS. * Experience with PowerCLI scripting for automation and system administration tasks. * Familiarity with the Atlassian toolset, including Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket. * General working knowledge of WINTEL and LINUX platforms. * Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills. * Attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
