Telecom Consultant 3 Month contract initially Based: Hybrid - Max 2 days p/w onsite in Warrington Rate: £300 - £325 p/d - (via Umbrella company) We have a great opportunity with a world leading organisation where you will be provided with all of the support and development to succeed. Key Responsibilities: The design of disaster recovery strategies for the telecom systems and networking components that ensures reliable, secure, and rapid recovery of telecom services during outages or cyber incidents. Development of a telecom-specific disaster recovery plan aligned with the company's overall OT DR strategy. Define RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective) for telecom services. Work closely with Business Continuity, IT & OT operations team to conduct the disaster recovery testing of telecom services, and tabletop exercises to validate recovery procedures. Key Skills & Experience: The hands-on experience on the following systems - * TXCare - OTN TX Care - manage the multiple Xtran networks. * Cisco TACACS - AAA/Radius solution authenticates users to allow the ability to view or modify Cisco and Nokia (ODN) config when logging into the switch/router. * Cisco Prime Infrastructure - Cisco Management System for ODN (Operational Data Network) & NGN (Next Generation Network) routers and switches. * Cisco Prime Optical - Cisco Prime Optical for managing Cisco ONS SDH nodes. * Nokia NFMP - Nokia Network Functions Manager for Packet (NFM-P) for managing the Nokia ODN network. * Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) - Manages Substation Telephony devices VoIP phones, SIP cards and Voice gateways for analogue phones. * CNMS-NG (Commtel Network Management System - Next Generation) - Manages Avara PDH/SDH devices (alarms and device backup). SNMP trap destination for basic telecoms equipment such as modems, radios, battery chargers, etc. This system manages the majority of the telecoms devices. On going project to make the system geographic redundant. * Zetron ACOM - Control room telephony system (differs from CUCM but they do interface with one another). * Keymile UNEM (Unified Network Element Manager) - Manages Keymile and Milegate devices. Strong understanding about the networking and communication components such as data network, IEC 61850, PDH, SDH and MPLS TP. Key Responsibilities: To Migrate Symantec/McAfee Legacy Antivirus Solution to Microsoft Windows Defender (ATP) on Windows and Linux servers. Responsible- * To validate the current AV exclusion policy in estate. * Implement MDE policies * AAD devices group creation to implement exclusion and policy deployment. * Creating migration approach that is best suited for complex nuclear sensitive environment. * Network connectivity testing between source and destination. * Defender Installation File creation and distribution. * Leading discussion with the Image management team for MDE image that would be used for Auto scaling environment. Key Skills & Experience: * Hands on Experience onboarding MS and Linux server to Microsoft Defender * Must have managed complex migration * Must have AV exclusion management skills * Have knowledge and experience with Microsoft technologies such as but not limited to: Microsoft Defender for server, Microsoft Defender for O365, Microsoft Defender for Identity, Microsoft 365 Defender and Microsoft Cloud App Security * Good knowledge around server Detection and Response (EDR), Threat & Vulnerability Management (TVM), Attack Surface Reduction (ASR), and Auto Investigation and Remediation (AIR) * Experience with Symantec server Protection (SEPM) * Experience in McAfee/ Windows Defender Antivirus Policy, Group and Task Configuration * In depth knowledge of Windows operating systems including Client (7/8/10) and Server OS (2008/2012/2016) and Linux - RHEL * Documenting the deployment approach * Documenting and creating MDE policy * Investigative and analytical problem-solving skills across Windows Infrastructure * Developing, coordinating, and maintaining organizational security procedures, processes, and practices and supporting security documentation activities. * Remove legacy Antivirus solution from Servers * Hands on Experience in deploying ATP Package through GPO, SCCM or through Intune * Good Understanding of Threat analysis, Threat Hunting, and remediating security issues on End Points * Hands on Experience on Creation of Policy, file Exclusions, Monitoring Dashboard, Reporting. etc * End to end Support Coverage for Microsoft Defender * Ensure High level of Security controls are deployed on end points as per the best practices This is an excellent opportunity on a great project of work, If you are looking for your next exciting opportunity, apply now for your CV to reach me directly, we will respond as soon as possible.
