C# .net Developer – Insurance Our Client is an insurance underwriter in the City of London. They are now looking to grow their software development team and are looking to recruit a C# .net Software Developer. You will have at least 5 to 7 years expertise in developing complex software with C#. A strong mathematical background would be advantageous but not required. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Expert in C# Development coupled with Java/jQuery Web development Web API, CSS. You will have solid SQL Server experience (stored procedures, table design and some maintenance). Microsoft Office including VBA and advanced skills in Excel and HTML/IIS. Develop and support applications using Visual Studio and other Products where appropriate. Provide support for Microsoft Office Applications along with design and build reports for our SharePoint Applications. The ideal candidate will have a drive to succeed, take part in IT strategy and work in a technology rich and agile environment. The developer will be part of a small team with responsibilities for ensuring the business has full support regarding IT systems. Key aspects of the role will be to: Initiate and promote improvements to MI and analysis Analyse requirements and provide the most suitable solution using the most appropriate technology. Document/support and upgrade a wide range of internal applications/processes As this is a small team, you will need to be flexible in your approach, as you will have primary responsibility for some specific systems but will need to be aware of the overall system. Ability to produce ad hoc reporting and analysis of information in the Data Warehouse Work both as part of a team and under your own initiative Communicate with all areas of the business, at all levels The Client uses Windows Servers and virtualised Windows Clients, with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint etc.). Additionally they use Office 365 for email, Microsoft SQL Server for our main databases and SharePoint for our intranet. For underwriting the Client uses (Eclipse) and for Accounts (Sun), and a number of other smaller applications for specific jobs, such as RMS for Modelling and Remetrica for Actuarial function. The salary for this role will be up to £50K – for the right candidate maybe slightly higher for exceptional candidates. The Client will consider someone junior with an ability to learn and hit the ground running at £25K - £30K. You will have a 2:1 in maths or computer science, or similar.
