Job Title: Development Ops Engineer Salary: £36,800 - £47,900 Location: Cambridge/Hybrid Contract: Permanent We are recruiting for a DevOps Engineer to join our Assessment API team. This key role is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and evolution of our critical AWS-based infrastructure. You will be instrumental in driving reliability, scalability, and efficiency for our English language assessment APIs and the products and services they enable. We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge. About the role Working in close collaboration with the development team, you will leverage Infrastructure as Code principles, primarily using AWS and Terraform. The aim is to automate and streamline operations, enhance system security, and empower our development teams to deliver innovative solutions rapidly and effectively. As a core member of our engineering team, you will: Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code. Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to enable safe, reliable, and frequent software deployments. Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure system health and performance. Partner with development teams to provide technical guidance and drive the adoption of a DevOps culture. Manage backup and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
