Developer with Findur, SQL and Java - Application Support - City London Our Client is an International Bank with offices in the City of London. They are now looking to recruit a Senior Developer with Openlink's Findur, SQL and Java. Although the role is for an individual to develop and support the Treasury applications systems for the bank. You will be working MS SQL Server be supporting the London and Global Treasury Applications and Systems along with Openlinks Findur treasury system. As MS SQL Server DBA with Application Support you will be involved with developing and implementing solutions for London and Global Treasury Systems requirements. Must have Findur with Java and JVS development skills. Ensure the integrity, security and accuracy of production database environment, ensuring good performance of the dependent applications. Plan and implement operating procedures for backup of database and recovery of database information. Develop database-related application development standards covering database creation, software placement, storage and auditing. Ensures the integrity of the recovery system at all times. Initiates formal testing of the recovery system. Develops database procedures as necessary to enhance the application suite as required. Responds to, resolves and documents support calls for the production and test applications. Maintains to a high standard documentation supporting the build, maintenance and operational procedures of the database environment. Acts as the technical liaison between database operations and vendor support. Performs other related duties as assigned. You must have at least 2 to 5 years solid expertise as a MS SQL Server DBA 2005 and 2008 coupled with Java development and support. You must have the Microsoft SQL Server Administration (Enterprise Edition) experience. High Level T-SQL programming (SP, Functions, Triggers). Operation, design and implementation experience of Mirroring, Log Shipping and SQL Server Replication. SQL Reporting services and Analysis services maintenance and tuning. Good understanding of WINTEL environment with AD domain and user administration. OpenLink Findur Treasury Application would be handy but not a must. Change management concepts and application Configuration and operation of clustered database Servers using external storage. Scripting stored procedures. Security concepts of database management.Change management concepts and application. The role will be to work as a MS SQL DBA with an element of supporting financial applications development with SQL Server and Java. The financial applications include Openlink’s Findur product and Sungard’s Panorama system - you will be trained in this. The Client is keen to recruit an individual who has experience of Findur and in particular Openlink’s scripting language AVS - but this is NOT a must as you will be trained in the use of Findur. C# .net Developer – Insurance Our Client is an insurance underwriter in the City of London. They are now looking to grow their software development team and are looking to recruit a C# .net Software Developer. You will have at least 5 to 7 years expertise in developing complex software with C#. A strong mathematical background would be advantageous but not required. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Expert in C# Development coupled with Java/jQuery Web development Web API, CSS. You will have solid SQL Server experience (stored procedures, table design and some maintenance). Microsoft Office including VBA and advanced skills in Excel and HTML/IIS. Develop and support applications using Visual Studio and other Products where appropriate. Provide support for Microsoft Office Applications along with design and build reports for our SharePoint Applications. The ideal candidate will have a drive to succeed, take part in IT strategy and work in a technology rich and agile environment. The developer will be part of a small team with responsibilities for ensuring the business has full support regarding IT systems. Key aspects of the role will be to: Initiate and promote improvements to MI and analysis Analyse requirements and provide the most suitable solution using the most appropriate technology. Document/support and upgrade a wide range of internal applications/processes As this is a small team, you will need to be flexible in your approach, as you will have primary responsibility for some specific systems but will need to be aware of the overall system. Ability to produce ad hoc reporting and analysis of information in the Data Warehouse Work both as part of a team and under your own initiative Communicate with all areas of the business, at all levels The Client uses Windows Servers and virtualised Windows Clients, with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint etc.). Additionally they use Office 365 for email, Microsoft SQL Server for our main databases and SharePoint for our intranet. For underwriting the Client uses (Eclipse) and for Accounts (Sun), and a number of other smaller applications for specific jobs, such as RMS for Modelling and Remetrica for Actuarial function. The salary for this role will be up to £50K – for the right candidate maybe slightly higher for exceptional candidates. The Client will consider someone junior with an ability to learn and hit the ground running at £25K - £30K. You will have a 2:1 in maths or computer science, or similar.
