We're recruiting for multiple roles within the directorate - three frontend Developers and two senior frontend Developers. We're conducting a single campaign and will assign a role based on interview performance and merit. The directorate is the information engine behind the product suite. It manages the central source of trusted content, publishing infrastructure, overarching policy and consistent design that form the crucial foundation for a proactive, personalised user experience that spans multiple digital channels. The roles are across these teams: Web , who build and maintain the central domain with a focus on content Publishing , who look after content management tools for users across government to create and update content across all of 's channels Insights and Analytics , who are responsible for the performance measurement of and generation of insights and analytics , who provide the styles, components and patterns used by teams across government to build services consistent with the Watch . As a frontend developer you’ll: build accessible components and patterns to serve a variety of citizen and government needs, taking responsibility for the quality of code you produce and ensuring that it follows our standards have and apply a broad knowledge of core web technologies, and help to define the strategy for frontend development with GDS and wider government consider the impact of your changes, versioning releases and collaborating on release notes and documentation to help users to navigate breaking changes design and implement automated testing plans to help us deliver with confidence share knowledge of tools and techniques with your team (both developers and non-developers) and with the wider frontend community participate in our in-house support rotas have the opportunity to share your experiences and the things that you’ve learnt with a wider audience, for example by writing blog posts, or speaking at government events If appointed at senior level you will also: help to prioritise and direct technical work across the team potentially take on line management of one or more frontend developers act as a digital ambassador across government, supporting recruitment, identifying good practices for GDS to adopt and sharing experiences, e.g. through blog posts, tech talks at conferences etc

Fullstack with C# Dot net HTML Web Software Developer Our Client is leader in the development of software for the financial sector. We are looking for a creative, detail-orientated Web Developer to join our Web Development team. You must have at least 5 years experience of working as a Fullstack Web Software Developer with C# Dot Net HTML and CSS. Within the Web Development team, you will have the opportunity to enjoy working with a range of web technology across the full stack. Our client base is growing and as part of this growth we are looking to improve and enhance our web-oriented product offerings. We are looking to recruit highly motivated and creative web developers who can be instrumental in delivering an ambitious digital roadmap. Previous Experience/Education: Web Developers don’t always need industry-specific work experience, but they must be able to demonstrate their web coding capability in organisations of a similar size and complexity. Ideally, we are looking for Web Developers with five plus years work experience. Additionally, candidates should be experienced in debugging and profiling applications associated with developing, testing and deploying web applications. It is preferable for Web Developers to hold a degree in Computer Science or a related field. Successful Web Developers should have sound knowledge and experience in different programming applications. C#, Asp.net/Core, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, MVC and JSON are required core skills. Role Function: Candidates should be able to demonstrate strong ability to work independently and as part of a team building websites from the ground up in C#, MVC, Asp.net and Asp.net core. The successful candidate should have a good command of C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON & Bootstrap. Exposure to any UI binding framework such as Vue.js, AngularJS, React, and Knockout would be beneficial. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable using IIS. Full understanding of the MVC pattern, REST APIs and asp.net controllers are a must. Web developers should be aware of security vulnerabilities, such as those identified in OWASP, and their code should mitigate these threats. Knowledge Required: Web Developers will need experience in the design, creation and maintenance of websites across multiple platforms as follows: Writing efficient code using best practice for software development Creating websites using different languages such as HTML and CSS Working with Programmers and Web Designers to create a website that matches the visual design intent Communicating with business colleagues to gather and refine requirements and specifications for content development within agreed-upon timelines Researching a variety of software programs Creating and maintaining the documentation for software used Improving and enhancing websites after they have been created Skills Required: A successful Web Developer candidate will have various prerequisite skills/qualifications needed for duties such as a Degree in Computer Science or related field). Front End Java and HTML Developer – Brighton Sussex Our Client is looking to recruit a Front End Software Developer with very strong experience in Java Script. Must have experience with Agile development environment. Any experience with Angular JS framework knowledge would be very handy.
