Principal Specialist Infrastructure Engineer - Companies House - SEO
The BITS team is part of IT Services and the Digital and Technology directorate and is widely recognised across Companies House as a team who delivers a great service. They are responsible for the day-to-day support and administration of ServiceNow, our cloud-based telephony solution, end user devices and the Microsoft 365 application suite including Dynamics, Sharepoint, Power Platform Intune, Defender and EntraID. They are involved in several highly visible initiatives including driving automation across the business through the use of AI, contributing significantly to an organisation wide Identity and Access management programme and being part of major case management implementation using Microsoft Dynamics. Job description As a Principal Specialist Infrastructure Engineer , you will: collaborate with other teams and people from across the organisation to optimise processes with a focus on using Artificial Intelligence and automation wherever possible; manage the support and maintenance for our M365 Dynamics case management system, SharePoint (including corporate and communication sites), Purview, OneDrive, M365 application suite support, Teams, EntraID, Intune, Defender and our cloud-based telephony and call recording solution; support IT Services to achieve its public availability target which is currently 99.5%, through the prevention of disruption arising from BITS incidents; manage the Tech Bar that provides onsite support for our internal colleagues in Crown Way, as well as arrange regular visits to our regional offices in Edinburgh and Belfast to provide a similar service; manage the support and maintenance of our ServiceNow platform. This will include making enhancements to drive IT Service and Operational Management solutions, and leading continuous improvements through process automation; manage the device team that supplies the hardware used by our internal colleagues, enabling them to work safely and securely from wherever they are allowed to. This will include Windows end user devices, Macbooks, Iphones, home working and office-based peripherals such as screens, printers, keyboards and mice; have the opportunity to be the Duty Manager for the on-call rota.
