Job opportunity – Test Analyst – Non-Life Claims Transformation

Context and objective

The Information Systems Non-Life Claims team, responsible for a non-life claims transformation program covering claim management applications and declaration portals, is looking for a test analyst able to combine test analysis and design, test execution, and test management to support development project teams.

The case management and process flow solution is developed in Pegasystems and integrated with a COBOL / SQL back-office through API and ASB. Customer portals and document management solutions are custom-built using various technologies.

The consultant will work within the IT organisation in a dynamic and innovative context on medium- to large-scale projects, joining a strong team and contributing to solutions in a critical claims domain for a major insurance player.

Mission details

• Extension possible depending on project evolution
• Location: Brussels centre

Main responsibilities

As project test analyst, the consultant is expected to take a hands-on role and not only coordinate testing activities but also actively prepare, execute and investigate System Testing, Integration Testing and SIT scenarios.

Responsibilities include:

• Analyse business and technical requirements and identify quality risks
• Define and maintain the testing strategy and master test plan
• Establish the overall test scope, test levels and test approach
• Coordinate system, integration, end-to-end and non-functional testing activities
• Design and maintain technical and functional test scenarios and test cases
• Identify and create test data needed to perform test cases
• Execute functional, integration and end-to-end test cases, validate results, and ensure adequate coverage of business processes and system interactions
• Investigate incidents, unexpected behaviour and root causes of defects
• Monitor test progress and provide regular reporting to project stakeholders
• Support defect diagnosis through analysis of APIs, integrations, messaging components and end-to-end transaction flows
• Collaborate closely with business analysts, functional analysts, architects and developers
• Contribute to the preparation and execution of release regression testing
• Manage and follow up defects, including prioritisation, reporting and coordination with project teams
• Support continuous improvement of testing, defect management and quality assurance practices

Business experience – mandatory:

• Experience in case management and workflow management tools

Technical experience – mandatory:
• Excel and MS Office tools
• Ability to support the functional analyst in investigating issues in the end-to-end flow
• Knowledge of SQL and DB2
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps
• Experience in API testing

Technical experience – preferable:
• Experience with Postman or Swagger or SoapUI

Functional experience – mandatory:
• Ability to define test strategy and master test plan
• Experience in test analysis and test execution
• Ability to define a high-level test structure
• Experience in defect management

Functional experience – preferable:
• Experience in test automation such as Playwright or Cucumber
• Basic knowledge of non-functional requirements and software and hardware architecture

Language requirements

• English: fluent speaking, reading and writing – mandatory
• Dutch and/or French: one language fluent and the other passive or not spoken – mandatory
