A major financial institution in Luxembourg is strengthening its data governance and metadata management capabilities to improve data discoverability, semantic consistency, and trust across the organisation.
As part of this initiative, the organisation has implemented a data catalogue based on OpenMetadata and is looking for a Data Catalogue Expert to assess, optimise, and enhance the platform in alignment with industry best practices.
The consultant will collaborate with both business and technical stakeholders to improve metadata governance, semantic modelling, taxonomies, and data catalogue adoption.
Profil recherché
7+ years of experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, or Data Management
Strong hands-on experience with data catalogue tools, ideally OpenMetadata
Proven expertise in metadata management, semantic modelling, and business glossaries
Experience defining taxonomies, classifications, and governance standards
Good understanding of data lineage, ownership, and data lifecycle concepts
Ability to assess existing implementations and recommend practical improvements
Experience working with modern data platforms and cloud-based data ecosystems
Strong collaboration skills with both business and technical stakeholders
Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Experience in regulated environments such as banking, finance, or public sector is a plus
Knowledge of ontologies and semantic frameworks is considered an advantage
Autonomous, analytical, and detail-oriented mindset
Fluent in English; French is a strong advantage
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field
