Context

Our client is building an internal cloud-native platform designed to accelerate the development, deployment, and operation of software products supporting the transformation of the energy sector.

This Enterprise Developer Platform (EDP) provides self-service capabilities for application teams and delivers services related to infrastructure, data management, software delivery, service lifecycle management, and operations. The platform is deployed in a hybrid cloud environment, combining private cloud infrastructure with selected public cloud services.

The German Local Operations Team is responsible for running and maintaining the production EDP platform hosting critical business applications in Germany.

Mission

As an IT Operations Engineer, you will join the German Local Operations Team and contribute to the operational excellence, stability, security, and continuous improvement of a managed Kubernetes platform hosting business-critical applications.

CI/CD Support & Operational Readiness

* Validate deployment artifacts from an operations perspective.

* Define and enforce quality assurance measures for production deployments.

* Ensure operational documentation, testing evidence, rollback procedures, and monitoring capabilities are in place before releases.

* Support operational readiness reviews for new services and applications.

Monitoring, Incident, Problem & Change Management

* Monitor platform health, performance, and service availability across multi-tenant Kubernetes environments.

* Investigate, analyze, and resolve incidents while minimizing service disruption.

* Drive root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions.

* Contribute to change and problem management processes aligned with ITSM and SRE principles.

Operations Automation

* Identify recurring operational challenges and automate standard remediation processes.

* Develop, test, validate, and maintain automation solutions following established software development lifecycles.

* Improve operational efficiency and platform reliability through automation initiatives.

Security & Compliance

* Implement and maintain monitoring and logging strategies supporting audit and compliance requirements.

* Perform routine security assessments and vulnerability remediation activities.

* Ensure operational processes comply with security and governance standards.
