Our important client is currently looking for a Senior Oracle Performance & Tuning Consultant for a 12 month contract (Part time 2/5) in Brussels.

Work Conditions

• 2 days per week (≈100 days per year)

• Hybrid model: 50% on-site / 50% remote

• Full remote work possible after onboarding and familiarization

Mission

Join a dynamic team managing a diverse database ecosystem including Oracle Database, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL DB. Your main role is to support business development teams by identifying Oracle performance bottlenecks, optimizing SQL queries, and improving overall database efficiency.

As a Senior Oracle Performance & Tuning Consultant, you will work closely with infrastructure engineers, application architects, business analysts, and developers to ensure optimal Oracle database performance across environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and optimize Oracle SQL queries and configurations

• Identify and resolve database performance issues

• Develop scripts and tools to automate performance analysis

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve database architecture

• Document findings and share best practices

• Provide guidance and training to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Required Skills

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in Oracle performance tuning and troubleshooting (without Oracle Performance & Tuning Packs or paid options)

• In-depth knowledge of DDL / DML

• Ability to write scripts (SQL, PowerShell, Unix) for automation and diagnostics

• Good understanding of networking and modern authentication mechanisms

Soft Skills

• Autonomous, proactive, and team-oriented

• Able to challenge and improve existing architectures

• Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing skills

• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences

• Security-aware and aligned with IT best practices
