Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Architect Location: Liverpool City Centre on a Hybrid working basis Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum DOE Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm Acorn is looking for a passionate Cloud Infrastructure Architect who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising secure, scalable, and highly available cloud platforms. This role requires technical leadership across cloud strategy, architecture governance, infrastructure modernisation, and operational excellence. The architect partners closely with business areas to ensure the cloud environment supports organisational goals and meets enterprise standards. Responsibilities: Develop end-to-end cloud architectures, supporting enterprise workloads, including compute, storage, networking, identity, and automation. Develop a close working relationship with Platform Engineering to ensure robust design and delivery across our cloud platforms Create reference architectures, design patterns, and technical standards for cloud environments. Design hybrid and multi-cloud strategies leveraging platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP. Evaluate new cloud services, tools, and technologies to guide technical direction. Lead the design and implementation of core cloud infrastructure components: virtual networks, identity and access, monitoring, encryption, resilience, and backup strategies. Define infrastructure-as-code patterns using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM. Support migration of workloads from on-premise to cloud platforms following best-practice frameworks Ensure cloud designs adhere to security standards, regulatory requirements, and architectural governance. Implement Zero Trust principles, network segmentation, encryption, key management, and secure access control models. Partner with SecOps teams to ensure monitoring, logging, and incident response capabilities are embedded Develop automation and service optimisation strategies to improve performance, cost efficiency, and availability. Conduct capacity planning, resilience engineering, disaster recovery design, and performance tuning. Mentor engineers across cloud, DevOps, and infrastructure teams. About you: Requirements: Proven experience across several disciplines; networking, infrastructure, cloud platform and system administration Extensive experience designing and supporting cloud infrastructure on Azure, AWS, or GCP Strong understanding of networking (VNETs/VPCs, routing, DNS, load balancing, firewalls) Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and automation tooling. Experience with container platforms (AKS, EKS, GKE, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures. Strong background in identity and access management (Azure AD, IAM, RBAC). Proven experience building scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures. Role: Data Migration Engineer Duration : 6 months initial contract IR35 Status : Outside IR35 location : 2-3 days in Bath , rest if working from home Clearance needed : SC Level The role is for a Data Migration Engineer to work within an Application Management team. The work supports a new healthcare platform. The objectives and outputs from the role include the following: The role is to provide Data Engineering support for InterSystems HealthShare (HFS) components including the EMPI (enterprise master patient index), HPD (healthcare provider directory), Portal and Data Quality reports, and any other related project components added during this period. * Assist with the implementation of the data migration pipeline for a Health Record based on InterSystems IRIS. This will include design, development, testing, and monitoring. * Configuration, deployment, and testing of the supporting infrastructure and environments required for data migration, including populating and making available a terminology server, agreeing firewall rules, and implementing ETL and analysis tooling based on the Cloud Azure platform. * Creation and maintenance of data mappings and transformation logic for the data migration pipelines, ensuring alignment with the target data model and business rules. This will include analysis and implementation of clinical terminology mappings, the segregation of data into multiple migration targets, and the redaction of sensitive data. * Handling coded clinical data including SMOMED / Local code mapping * Develop staging-layer pipelines in IRIS * Configure and optimise extraction and ingestion processes across heterogeneous clinical source systems and target environments (e.g., InterSystems IRIS/HealthShare) * Tune performance for high-volume patient data and ensure resilient batch orchestration and environment promotion practices Key Strengths: * Analytical/problem solving skills. * Team working, personal networking skills. * Able to influence stakeholders. * Adaptable, self-motivated and with an ability to quickly understand technical concepts. * Able to identify and develop database improvements. * Work under pressure while remaining decisive. * Able to communicate all needs, instructions and decisions clearly. Previous experience and skillset: * Demonstrable knowledge Data Migration and Data modelling * Experience of ETL Development (Clinical Coded Data / InterSystems IRIS-HealthShare) Design * Required - experience of development in InterSystems HealthShare and HealthConnect with a strong understanding of EMPI, PD, Integration engine and IRIS. * Preferable - experience of development with Azure, Microsoft .Net, Ansible, Terraform * Ability to work in an Agile way as part of an Agile team. * Nice to have - experience of Jira and/or Azure DevOps.
