Job Title: Product Development Engineer Location: Glascoed - Onsite only Salary: Up to £43,649 (dependent on skills and experience) What you'll be doing: Supporting the product design and systems engineering activities for new and legacy products Conducting and managing product and process design, development, test, manufacture and evaluation activities. The Artillery, Tank and Mortars (ATM) team: You will provide engineering support to the ATM team to ensure the delivery of projects within the team. Working with the Portfolio Manager and reporting to the Senior Product Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the programmes/projects include appropriate engineering development activity to achieve a robust solution The activities will be planned with robust estimates for completion with sound risk mitigation built in. Job Title: Senior Product Development Engineer Location: Glascoed Salary: Circa £55,869 depending upon skills & experience What you'll be doing: Responsible for the Engineering input into the development of new Munitions Products and the supervision of associated Engineering staff Supporting the design, development and qualification of new Munitions products, from concept generation through to full scale production, adopting design for manufacture and design to cost best practice principles Formulating appropriate test regimes, to provide the necessary evidence, to ensure defined requirements are achieved and that the product is 'Safe and Suitable' for Service Use Providing the necessary engineering input into the Life Cycle Management Process Building robust processes into the product design and development process and to provide process capability data in support of LCM reviews Initiate and analyse theoretical modelling date Interfacing with the customer, both internally and externally as required Your skills and experiences: Essential: Science or Engineering degree, HND or equivalent - Manufacturing/Electrical/Mechanical (achieved or working towards) Proven experience within a manufacturing environment - Process/ Aerospace/Automotive Desirable: NEBOSH certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Manufacturing toolroom, including multi axis machining and CMM experience Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.
