Deployment Engineer
Needs to be SC cleared, not hold dual nationality and be a UK national This is a mobile role and candidates will need to drive to different sites. Will need to attend Derby Sites and possible other remote sites subject to the project demands Will need to be flexible to work out of hours Will need to be onboarded to RR Subs Build & Test * Build up to 1800 x Windows 11 devices to meet the agreed deployment schedule. * Current build facilities will support throughput of approximately 250x devices per week. * Perform Rolls-Royce mandated testing procedure for all new builds including required patch updates & application installations linked to the build. * Perform a Pilot deployment to test the Supplier process & ensure the new device/build meets expected requirements/standards. Device Deployment * Physically preparing the devices for shipment and loading for transportation * Devices will be deployed to up to 50x identified device owners per day as per the agreed deployment schedule. * Most remote sites have under 50x devices to replace, therefore, the rate per day will drop for those sites due to location constraints. * Deployments will take place in hours. * Ensure the new device is working correctly and obtain Rolls-Royce representative sign off. * Provide Early Life Support for 1x day, immediately following each scheduled block of deployment events. * Collection of Legacy devices from desks and delivery back to Raynesway storage area. ready for decommission/disposal. Mop-Up: * Complete the re-arranged deployment and collect the replaced device. Decommission * All legacy devices shall be retained for a period of 3x weeks following replacement & return to Raynesway storage facility, at which point the device will be deemed ready for decommission if no request for data recovery has been received from the targeted user. * Following the 3x weeks holding period, the disk drives/memory will be removed from all devices in readiness for Supplier disposal. * The disk drives/memory will then be sent for on-site disposal following the standard Rolls-Royce disposal method.
