The following are a list of functions for this position: Monitoring and management of the relationship with the managed service provider, including performance against SLAs, charges for non-standard items, complaints, changes to service System changes (software upgrades, introduction of new systems Non-standard requests (new software requests, different/more powerful laptops, etc) Acquisitions of businesses - guidance on how to absorb people and systems Security system monitoring - interpreting and managing output from the SOC (security operations centre) Software licensing (Microsoft, Mimecast, other systems (time recording, billing, marketing, etc) Change management (internal authorisation for significant system changes) Assistance to senior management in relation to IT issues (for example, integration with a new time/billing system) Response to technological change (e.g. major updates to Microsoft software, introduction of AI-based systems) Accreditation for security certificates (Cyber Essentials Plus, possibly ISO 27001) Assistance with AAF and other audits Management of joiner/leaver process Business continuity plan & disaster recovery This is a hybrid position with 2 to 3 days in the office at the offices in Reading. We have a great opportunity for a Field Service Technician to join the team. * To be ready to take on your next role by consistently delivering high impact onsite technical support * To deliver secure, stable, and efficient end user IT services that keep business operations running without disruption * To make a measurable impact by proactively preventing issues, improving system performance, and supporting multi site operations Key Responsibilities: * Provide onsite IT support for corporate office users, ensuring timely resolution of hardware, software, and connectivity issues. * Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, network equipment, and AV systems. * Troubleshoot system performance, network connectivity, and device level faults with a strong focus on reducing downtime. * Perform system updates, backups, and scheduled preventive maintenance to improve reliability and reduce recurring incidents. * Manage hardware asset inventory, including shipping, receiving, and tracking of IT equipment across locations. * Document all service activities, resolutions, and root causes clearly in the ticketing tool. Coordinate with remote IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues efficiently. * Lead onsite installation activities while ensuring adherence to safety regulations and customer compliance standards. * Travel to additional sites when required to support installation projects, emergencies, or operational needs. * Follow all site specific safety rules and maintain professionalism while representing the IT team onsite. Key Skills & Experience: * Strong hands on experience supporting end user hardware such as desktops, laptops, mobile phones, tablets, iPads, printers, and AV devices. * Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and common enterprise applications. * Solid understanding of networking basics, including connectivity troubleshooting and device configuration. * Experience performing system updates, backups, preventive maintenance, and hardware repairs. * Ability to document technical issues and resolutions accurately in IT ticketing systems. * Experience coordinating with remote teams for escalations and advanced troubleshooting. * Strong problem solving skills with the ability to diagnose root causes and implement effective solutions. * Knowledge of IT security principles, compliance requirements, and safe work practices. * Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks involved in equipment installation. * Valid driving licence with the ability to travel between sites and respond to emergency support requirements. Desirable skills/knowledge/experience: * Familiarity with Apple iPad and Android tablet configuration and support. * Experience supporting AV systems and conference room technologies. * Exposure to asset lifecycle management processes. * Prior experience in enterprise or multi site IT field service environments. * Knowledge of modern workplace tools and cloud based collaboration platforms.
