An SC cleared Network Engineer is required initially until the end of the year. This role is initially full time on site in Barrow in Furness but there may be the opportunity for hybrid working later on and is inside IR35 so will require working via an FCSA accredited umbrella company. Role Description: * Inputting into High Level Designs * Creating Low Level designs from approved High Level Designs * Configuring core infrastructure components e.g. Data Centre Fabric, Access/Distribution Switches, routers, WAN, firewalls, load balancers, Authentication servers, Wifi controllers, management tooling. * Performing impact assessments on large or complex networks. * Performing testing to pre-determined plans and analyse results. * Planning survey's / surveying for cross/site distribution areas ( Fibre ) - checking for cabling power/space (photo's to be taken) * Installing new SDA switches in readiness for OOH work for installation/take on and testing of kit, providing ELS and decom/removal of old switches Installation/take on and testing of new SDA kit Key Skills o Network Architecture / Architecture (Compute/storage/End User) o Working in secure environments o Network Design (HLD/LLD) o Cisco Networking (Routing/Switching) o Data Centre Networking o Cisco ACI o Firewalls (Palo Alto / Cisco) o Authentication (802.1x / Cisco ISE / AD familiarity) o Network management o Load balancing (NetScaler) o Cisco SDA (Software Defined Access) o Meraki o Wi-Fi o Remote access o Encryption Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply.
