As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Data) You’ll have:

• Provided expert leadership in designing, building, and supporting data infrastructure and operational solutions.

• Guided teams, enforce engineering and integration standards, and manage third-party providers throughout projects.

• Implemented complex data flows, automation, and security controls within cloud infrastructure and data platforms.

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, improve reliability, and oversee testing for data services.

Desired Criteria:

• Apply knowledge of data mesh, FAIR principles, cross-government data sharing, and cloud-native tools.

• Experience managing IT operations teams, including workload and performance oversight.

• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, data operations, and end-to-end architectural solutions.

• Proficiency with reusable infrastructure templates and serverless platforms.

• Expertise in infrastructure engineering, automation, and cloud-native tools (PowerBI, Purview, Databricks, MS Fabric).

You will play a critical part in supporting MHCLG’s Data and AI Strategies by overseeing operational support functions and cultivating a high-performing IT operations team. You will support and manage third-party services, guide teams throughout the entire service product lifecycle, and translate architectural designs into functional operational data environments. Additionally, you will build secure, scalable data services that align with and advance departmental priorities.
