A Junior Test Engineer plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality software by working closely with experienced test professionals to develop core testing skills and knowledge.

In this role, you will proactively collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand requirements and contribute to the planning, design, and execution of comprehensive testing activities. This includes both functional and non‑functional testing across applications and infrastructure, delivered within Agile and Waterfall environments.

Through hands‑on involvement and continuous learning, the Junior Test Engineer helps ensure that products meet expected standards of functionality, reliability, and user experience.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Contribute to and maintain technical test suites under supervision

  • Follow engineering practices and standards to apply test approaches, plans and strategies under supervision

  • Analyse artefacts such as user stories, prototypes, processes and designs with support

  • Support the development of reports, recording of outcomes and resolution of defects

  • Understand the technical tooling and engineering approach to design and execute tests

Required experience:

  • You will demonstrate a strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of test preparation and execution.

  • You will have the confidence to question, challenge and seek new ways of working.

  • Naturally inquisitive and analytical, you will approach problems logically and explore issues from multiple angles to understand root causes.

  • You will be capable of working effectively both within a team and independently, taking ownership of your tasks and proactively managing your time to meet deadlines and priorities.

  • You will be articulate and able to communicate clearly and confidently with colleagues at all levels, ensuring that information, issues, and risks are shared in a timely and appropriate manner.
