On behalf of the Met Office, we are looking for a Software Developer (Python) (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract based Hybrid in Exeter.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

As a Software Developer, your main responsibilities will be:
* Design, develop, and maintain software applications that support operational needs.
* Design, code and test, software applications according to specifications and standards.
* Fix faults following agreed procedures and carry out agreed maintenance tasks on infrastructure.
* Effectively document all work using required standards, methods, and tools, including prototyping tools where appropriate.
* Work on more complex integration as part of a wider team.
* Prioritise and define approaches to understand the user story, guiding others in doing so.

Essentail:
* AWS cloud experience
* Strong experience working within Python

Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
