Network Engineer
Network Engineer - 6-month contract - London/Remote My Customer is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to support a major AV upgrade project as our client transitions to a Microsoft Teams Rooms environment . This role will be critical in ensuring that all meeting spaces are upgraded, integrated, and supported to a high standard, while establishing a robust global network design to underpin future AV rollouts. The Network Engineer can work fully remote with potential ad hoc travel to London when required. Network Engineer Skills & Experience: Strong background in LAN/WAN networking and VLAN configuration for AV meeting room setups . Previous experience with AV/UC solutions (ideally Microsoft Teams Rooms). Experience supporting AV rollouts across multiple locations. Familiarity with global monitoring tools (Symphony or similar). Hands-on experience with Cisco networking (routing & switching), firewalls, and WAN technologies. Experience with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds NPM/NTA and Cisco Prime. Knowledge of Fortinet, Aruba, HPE, Palo Alto (Panorama), and Cisco Nexus . Law firm industry experience would be beneficial Any experience working with SD-Wan products would be useful Potential Out of hour work on a rota basis Potential global travel Key Responsibilities: Setup VLANs to optimise LAN performance and stability for AV solutions. Create a scalable network design framework that can be implemented globally across all sites. Ensure all AV room upgrades and rollouts meet a high, consistent standard. Provide technical support for the onboarding of Teams Room upgrades . Contribute to High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation to support implementation. Assist with the deployment of a global network monitoring and management tool (Symphony) . Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AV specialists, IT, and global stakeholders, to ensure smooth integration. Network Engineer with Cisco and Banking – City London
Network Engineer with Security and Cisco – City London Our Client urgently requires a Senior Network Engineer with heavy background in Network Security on Cisco and Microsoft. You must have experience of working in a banking environment. The security and support of the company’s network is paramount. Predominately a support role (BAU) with design of scalable solutions deliverable through projects. Encompassing numerous technologies that benefit high-availability solutions. This role requires a responsible individual who can design and deliver secure networking solutions. Fast thinker who can diagnose, assist others and remediate BAU support issues. Main Aspects of the role: -Work within Infrastructure team in supporting and delivering all aspect of BAU and support services -Design, build and implement firewall solutions from perimeter to DMZ roles -Support IPS deployment for European branches -Develop, maintain and deliver global standards to all networking devices -Remediate Penetration Test results -Ensure seamless migration of network estate to newly adopted security framework General Skills -Experience working within mission-critical environments -Experience in operational deployments -Datacentre cabling and racking of equipment Technical Skills you need to bring to the table: -In-depth knowledge of CISCO including firewalls, switches and routing protocols -In-depth knowledge of supporting a data-centre and branch inter-connectivity -Strong technical skills are essential -Experience of CISCO multi-layer switches and routers, including 6500s -CISCO certification, ideally CCNP -CISCO CSM -VLAN segregation -McAfee HIPS, Trend Micro -Centralised authentication service (AAA) -SafeNet Ethernet Encryptor -RADIUS / RSA -Security certification (advantageous) You will also need to an understanding of the following technologies: VLAN segregation. DMZ. VSS. Failover. OSPF. High availability. CISCO. Palo Alto. Juniper. McAfee IPS. SafeNet. Tripwire. You will ideally be coming with experience from a City based investment bank.
