Our client is looking for a DevOps Engineer who has strong experince with mission-critical platforms and ideally has had exposure to Samsung MCPTX or similar solutions. This role would be supporting the deployment and operation of software applications and components within a virtualized infrastructure. The role focuses on mission-critical communication platforms, with a strong emphasis on reliability, scalability, and performance. This role would be working fully remote with the occasionally travel to London, contract will be initially 12 months and it has be deemed at Inside IR35. And requires a candidate to be eligible to go through an SC clearance. Required Skills: * Experience supporting complex software systems in production environments. * Familiarity with virtualized infrastructure, particularly VMware. * Strong Linux system administration skills. * Understanding of DevOps principles and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, automation). * Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems and networked applications. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills. * Experience with mission-critical communication platforms (e.g., MCPTT, VoLTE, IMS, Push-to-Talk). Required : Virtualisation SME Location : Basingstoke Duration : 6 Months + Clearance required : DV Level Your role will involve: As a VMware Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the creation of an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform using VMware technologies including vRealize Orchestrator (VRO), VMware Cloud Director (VCD), and NSX-T. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect, deploy, and optimize virtualized environments tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients. Responsibilities: 1. Design and implement VMware-based IaaS solutions according to client requirements and industry best practices. 2. Configure and optimize VMware vRealize Orchestrator (VRO) workflows for automating provisioning, deployment, and management tasks. 3. Deploy and manage VMware Cloud Director (VCD) instances, including resource pools, organizations, virtual data centers, and networking. 4. Implement and configure NSX-T for software-defined networking and security within the virtualized environment. 5. Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to integrate VMware solutions with existing systems and technologies. 6. Provide technical expertise and support during the testing, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues related to VMware infrastructure. 7. Develop and maintain documentation, including architectural diagrams, standard operating procedures, and technical guides. 8. Stay updated on emerging VMware technologies, trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovatio Required Skills: 2. Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing VMware-based virtualization solutions, with a focus on vRealize Orchestrator (VRO), VMware Cloud Director (VCD), and NSX-T. 3. In-depth knowledge of virtualization concepts, VMware vSphere architecture, and related technologies. 4. Hands-on experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and customization of VMware environments. 5. Strong understanding of software-defined networking (SDN) principles and experience with NSX-T configuration and management. 6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail. 7. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 8. VMware certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) are highly desirable.
