A Junior Test Engineer plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality software by working closely with experienced test professionals to develop core testing skills and knowledge. In this role, you will proactively collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand requirements and contribute to the planning, design, and execution of comprehensive testing activities. This includes both functional and non‑functional testing across applications and infrastructure, delivered within Agile and Waterfall environments. Through hands‑on involvement and continuous learning, the Junior Test Engineer helps ensure that products meet expected standards of functionality, reliability, and user experience. Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to: Contribute to and maintain technical test suites under supervision Follow engineering practices and standards to apply test approaches, plans and strategies under supervision Analyse artefacts such as user stories, prototypes, processes and designs with support Support the development of reports, recording of outcomes and resolution of defects Understand the technical tooling and engineering approach to design and execute tests For further information on the role, please read the attached role profile. Design System for our web interfaces Macs to do all the above In addition, we use a range of other technologies and continue to evolve by employing new technologies that help us deliver better services to our users As a Software Developer in HMCTS you will: Write, amend, refactor and document code to build complex programs/scripts, and as required leading on these activities. Adhere to internal process and procedures, promoting and advising others which software development standards, processes and procedures to apply. Constantly seek to learn and further develop your skills as required for your role. Monitor changes in the tech stack you use and alert on any major changes affecting our software. Adhere to industry's best practices, produce well-engineered modern products and guide others to do so in a highly competently manner. Ensure that products are secure, engineered to mitigate security threats and have the necessary security controls in place. Ensure that information is handled with confidentiality and integrity, and that products are compliant. Identify and raise risks and support Information Assurance activities. Support and maintain software as required, including in the live environment. Use modern tools to effectively and thoroughly identify, troubleshoot and fix faults. Package and deploy software built. Some activities may be outside the core office hours (in-line with the organisation's policy for OOH). Plan the development on sets of related stories and coordinate integration tasks across systems. Contribute to selection of the software development approach (plan-driven, iterative/agile etc.) for projects. Identify process optimisation opportunities with guidance and support activities to improve the development process. Choose the most appropriate from a variety of methods of prototyping, actively solicit prototypes with others. Define, analyse, plan, forecast, measure, maintain and improve all aspects of the availability of services. Control and manage service availability to meet the needs of the business in a cost-effective manner. This includes managing the capability, functionality and sustainability of service components (for example, hardware, software, network resources and software/infrastructure as a service). Design systems characterised by medium levels of risk, impact, and business or technical complexity. Take designs through the required governance. Review designs of others to ensure the selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources and integration of multiple systems and technology. Identify, record and escalate tech debt and medium-level risks. Define the integration build. Coordinate build activities across systems and undertake and support integration testing activities. Take a test-driven approach to software development, write complex automation test scripts and participate in testing. Participate in code reviews of own work and leads code reviews of colleagues' work. Guide and advise others on technical areas you have expertise in, modern development standards and approaches to understand user stories. Coach and mentor more junior colleagues. Lead on and participate in recruitment as required. Participate in and lead on procurement activities as required. Translate user stories to a proposed design and develop software to meet user needs. Collaborate with user researchers, represent users internally and champion user research to focus on all users. Skills & Experience: Sound knowledge of programming languages and tools for development of enterprise and public facing applications utilising our core stack. Healthcare Business Analyst : Location : 2-3 Days per week onsite in Bath Duration : 6 months contract IR35 Status : Outside IR35 Clearance level : SC clearance ideal To support the implementation of a clinical system, a Healthcare Business Analyst (BA) acts as the critical bridge between clinical workflows and technical solutions. Their primary goal is to ensure the new system enhances patient care, streamline operations, and meets regulatory standards. To implement a dental clinical system effectively, a Healthcare Business Analyst (BA) must focus on clinical safety and organisation-specific configuration. This role is highly operational, often requiring the analyst to manage the end-to-end process, including governance and stakeholder buy-in. We need an experienced healthcare BA ideally with knowledge of dental systems, transformation and business change expertise, to support the business in ensuring all documented requirements are up to date. Support the procurement of a system, and subsequent implementation. clinical systems and healthcare business analysis experience is important. This specific role will be focused on the business analysis required to implement a dental system . Core Responsibilities * Requirements Gathering: Leading workshops and interviews with clinicians and administrators to elicit, define, and document complex clinical needs. * Process Mapping: Evaluating "as-is" clinical workflows and designing "to-be" processes that align with the new system's functionality. * System Configuration & Design: Collaborating with technical teams to translate user requirements into functional specifications and assisting in system configuration. * Stakeholder Management: Acting as a liaison to ensure digital solutions are explained in clinical language while turning user needs into technical requirements. * Testing & Quality Assurance: Developing test plans, creating user stories, and leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the system is fit for purpose. * Implementation Support: Providing training and ongoing support to healthcare staff during "Go Live" phases and system upgrades. Previous experience and skillset: * Experience of working on a major digital transformation programme within a healthcare environment. * Experience of working in healthcare environments, including dental services (desirable). * Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills within a healthcare environment especially experience working with Dentists, GPs, Nurses, and associated Allied Health Professionals. * Requirements capture including elicitation, analysis and documentation in a healthcare environment including the use of MOSCOW techniques, User/Persona Stories and User/Persona Journey. * Opportunistic Identification and capture of Benefits and realisation. * Healthcare Pathway analysis and documentation including re-design to work with new digital/IT services. * Process mapping and re-design to work with new digital/IT services. * Development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other supporting collateral to support new Information Systems/Services implementation - supporting the business change team. * Broad experience of, and recent exposure to, digital healthcare. * Track record of effective working relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff within a healthcare environment.
