Technical Project Manager
Digital Services at the Royal Household supports nearly 500 systems and 1,500 users across multiple UK locations. Our technology ecosystem reflects the breadth and complexity of our work, and your technical expertise will be central to enabling it. You’ll help underpin everything we do to support The Sovereign in serving the UK and Commonwealth to help shape a better world, contributing to a legacy of purpose, progress and impact. As a Technical Project Manager , you’ll lead a portfolio of high-impact technology initiatives, each with its own scale, stakeholders, and strategic impact. With an initial spotlight on a transformative SharePoint programme, you’ll take ownership from concept to delivery, helping shape smarter ways of working and driving meaningful change across the organisation. Key responsibilities: Take ownership of the full lifecycle of software and system development projects, from initial concept and planning through to execution, monitoring, and closure, ensuring seamless delivery throughout. Internally, you’ll coordinate cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a consistently high standard. Partner with stakeholders to shape project requirements, scope, and success criteria. You’ll manage timelines, budgets, risks and dependencies using established project management methodologies. Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, realistic expectations, and transparent performance tracking at every stage. Working with enterprise architects, you’ll help define the technology requirements that support smarter business processes and align long-term organisational goals. You’ll also work alongside the Senior Project Manager to build a high-performing project team, embedding a consistent approach to project delivery. Essential Criteria: You bring substantial experience in leading software and system development or deployment projects, supported by relevant qualifications or certifications. You’re confident using project management platforms to plan, track, and deliver effectively. Naturally structured in your approach, you’re able to manage multiple projects of varying scale, juggle competing priorities, and maintain momentum in fast-paced environments. You build strong, collaborative relationships with ease - engaging stakeholders at all levels and influencing outcomes through trust, empathy and clarity. You have a sharp eye for identifying risks early and planning proactively across complex workstreams, ensuring delivery stays on track and aligned with strategic goals. With proven expertise in delivering finance or ERP systems, you’ll bring strategic oversight, technical insight and the leadership needed to navigate the complexities of this programme. This is more than keeping things on track - it’s about future-proofing our financial infrastructure and ensuring it supports seamless, day-to-day operations across the organisation. Key responsibilities: Oversee the full lifecycle of the Finance System replacement project, from planning and design to execution, implementation and closure, ensuring seamless delivery and alignment with strategic goals. UX Design Consultant Our Client is looking to recruit a UX designer Consultant with 3 to 4 years UX Design experience. This is a consultancy role, advising a global player in Education on direction and execution of a number of products/projects, as part of the evolving digital strategy. It is essential that you are self-managed and organized, and able to effectively prioritize and advise multiple stakeholders. SKILLS ● Excellent communication skills, written and oral. Excellent presentation skills. ● Workshop facilitation. ● UX and ethnographic research. ● Ability to fluidly and confidently work in ambiguous situations. ● Provide leadership in challenging situations through clarity, tact and diplomacy. ● Ability to identify and communicate the commercial impact of design decisions. ● Full command of the UX process is a must. EXPERIENCE ● Senior designer with over 4 years of work experience with blue chip clients as a UX designer, Product designer, UX architect, or a Service designer. ● Design processes, agile development and lean UX. ● Working collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team. ● Creating omnichannel experiences – cross-platform and cross-device solutions. ● Ability to define key metrics and evaluate project success. ● Working to strict deadlines. ● Proven design track record and design agency experience. ● Design degree or equivalent.
