Mission freelance Data Engineer - Databricks (h/f)

The Data Office serves as the cornerstone of all data-related activities within a prominent healthcare framework. We seek a Data Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary agile team comprising data engineers, reporting experts, data functional analysts, project managers, data architects, data quality experts, and AI specialists. Together, we transform Belgian healthcare data into actionable insights that support policy decisions and enhance care quality, driving tangible societal impact.

Roles & Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Designing, building, deploying, and maintaining BI solutions (data ingestion, data warehouse, data marts) in alignment with established standards and functional/non-functional requirements.

• Testing analytics solutions, resolving issues, and providing necessary maintenance and technical documentation.

• Creating visualizations and reports using Power BI or SSRS.

• Conducting prototype reviews and demos, including training business users on data models.

• Collaborating with the Project Leader throughout the project lifecycle to ensure effective delivery.

• Supporting the organization in its transition to Databricks.

Key Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• Minimum 7 years of experience as a Data Engineer within the Microsoft BI stack (Visual Studio, SSIS, SSAS, SSMS, SSRS, Power BI, SQL Server).

• Experience with Azure Databricks and Python is advantageous.

• Solid understanding of data warehouse design principles, specifically Kimball dimensional modeling.

• Experience working in an agile project environment is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in agile methodologies.

• Experience in developing and maintaining complex BI solutions.
