Mission freelance Technical Analyst — POS Acceptance - full remote

• Examine and evaluate current POS acceptance systems to define the technical requirements for EPI's next-generation retail payment solutions

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications (and vice versa), bridging the gap between stakeholders and engineering teams

• Produce high-quality technical deliverables — protocols, implementation guides, data mappings, system diagrams, and flow charts

• Collaborate with external acceptance ecosystem parties (terminal vendors, acquirers) to implement contactless payment specifications

• Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Testing teams throughout the POS acceptance development lifecycle

• Define testing procedures and develop test cases to ensure quality across integrations

• POS Terminals and their environments

• POS payment applications

• POS-Host interfaces and protocols

• EMV payment technology (NFC, contactless)

• Web technologies

Mandatory company must-haves

• +10 years of professional experience in the payment and banking sector, including at least 5 years in the POS acceptance domain

• A degree in a related technical field is preferred

• Fluent in English (CEFR C1 or C2); French, German, Dutch, or other European languages are a plus

• Thrive in a remote-first, multicultural environment

Job specific requirements

• Proven experience in technical systems analysis for POS Terminals or the wider acceptance domain

• Experience defining or implementing payment messaging protocols and standards

• Excellent analytical and technical writing skills for producing specifications of various nature

• Ability to take ownership and drive cross-functional consensus across internal and external stakeholders

• Previous close collaboration with engineering teams developing POS acceptance solutions is a plus
