Mission freelance Project Manager - LLI (Long Lead Items)

Our client is delivering a flagship national nuclear programme, leading the UK's first Small Modular Reactor (SMR) deployment. They are seeking a Project Manager to lead the Long Lead Items (LLI) workstream, overseeing the procurement, manufacture, and delivery of critical components. This is a high-profile role at the heart of a major nuclear and energy infrastructure project, working closely with strategic suppliers and key stakeholders across the UK and internationally.

• Infrastructure project management - Managing complex site and construction-related scopes, ensuring time, cost and quality objectives are met.
• Regulated environment experience - Working within nuclear or energy frameworks, complying with stringent safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Long lead item procurement - Planning and overseeing early procurement of critical components to protect the programme's schedule and critical path.
• Manufacturing surveillance - Monitoring manufacturing activities and quality across the supply chain to ensure specification and regulatory compliance.
• NEC3 and NEC4 contracts - Applying NEC contract forms to manage commercial performance, risk, and supplier relationships.
• Alliancing delivery model - Collaborating within multi-party delivery structures to align objectives and drive best-for-project outcomes.
• Multi-sector project exposure - Drawing on experience across nuclear, energy, civils or other regulated industries.
• Organisational & stakeholder engagement skills - Coordinating multiple workstreams and engaging suppliers, regulators and government stakeholders effectively.
• Rate - Inside IR35 - £440 a day all in rate.
