Lead how DVSA delivers digital services at scale. This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape agile delivery, influence strategy, and drive services that impact millions of people across the UK.

About the role

You’ll join DVSA as a Lead Portfolio Delivery Manager, acting as the head of Agile Delivery within a core value stream.

In this role, you will:

Lead a major delivery portfolio and shape how digital services are delivered
Work alongside senior leaders across Digital, Operations and Policy
Influence strategy and improve how teams deliver high-impact services
Build and grow a high‑performing, inclusive agile delivery community

What you’ll be doing

You’ll play a key role in shaping delivery across the organisation, including:

Providing strategic leadership for agile delivery across the agency
Leading and developing a high-performing delivery community
Working with senior leaders to ensure delivery aligns with strategic priorities
Measuring success through business outcomes, performance and user value
Managing risks, issues and dependencies across a large delivery portfolio
Supporting teams to resolve complex challenges and unblock delivery
Driving a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Ensuring delivery meets security, accessibility and compliance standards

Candidate profile

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a strong, confident leader with experience delivering at scale:

Significant experience leading agile delivery functions
Experience managing large, cross-functional teams (both direct and virtual)
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to influence across Digital, Operations and Policy environments
Experience managing portfolios, roadmaps, risks and dependencies at a strategic level
A collaborative approach with the ability to work across multiple disciplines

Working environment

Location: Bristol, Swansea, Leeds, Nottingham, Newcastle, Oldham, Birmingham, Yeading.
