We are looking for a Technical-Functional Analyst for our client in Brussels.
Start date : May/June
Duration : 12 months
Telework/onsite policy : 2 to 3 days per week on site (Brussels – accessible via public transport)
Experience Level: At least 10 years in a similar role
Key responsibilities :
Understand and discuss business analysis (Business Analysis) and, with the support of the architect, lead developer, and service manager, coordinate the requirements intake process.
Translate business analyses into functional and (especially) technical analyses for development and testing teams.
Pay special attention to the client’s digitalization principles, user experience, coordination with testers and developers, and achievable milestones.Advocate for your analysis during Agile refinement ceremonies.
Ensure the client has a realistic vision of deliverables, developers fully understand the requirements and technical implementation details, and testers clearly identify the elements to validate—based on both business and technical acceptance criteria.
Produce a number of "sprintable" tickets/cards—i.e., acceptable to developers and deliverable within a three-week sprint.
In case of production or User Acceptance Test (UAT) issues, contribute to problem definition and corrective actions.
The analyst is responsible for qualifying test datasets and assisting in the diagnosis of application issues. All analyses must align with interface specifications and architectural strategy.
Depending on needs, the senior functional analyst may take on management responsibilities, such as team coordination or project management. This role operates in an Advanced Technical Context and requires proven agility in a complex technological ecosystem. A key aspect of the role is anticipation, organizational flexibility, and cross-team communication.
Candidate profile
Expected skills - Must have :
Proactive and positive attitude toward quality.
Ability to communicate and share knowledge, particularly with junior analysts.
Build and maintain technical documentation to guide the development team (developers and testers).
Team spirit and leadership, with the ability to coach and challenge analysts within the team.
Capable of taking on the role of project manager.
Proven experience in projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Strong knowledge of Business Process Modeling, UML & BPMN methods, and functional/technical analysis.
Ability to clearly describe desired and existing processes.
Experience in group estimation of development time/cost.
Demonstrated expertise in opportunity analysis and strategic vision. Essential ability to challenge, propose alternative solutions, and apply constant pragmatism in the project’s best interest—optimizing deliverables, timelines, budget, and quality.
Basic data management skills to query information and understand valid or erroneous processes.
Practical knowledge of tools: Jira, Confluence, Git, Postman, SoapUI, SQL clients, Browser Developer Tools, and modeling/design tools (UML, Sequence Diagrams, Data Modeling).
At least a basic understanding of testing methodologies.
Solid experience in designing Sequence Diagrams to specify interactions between components in synchronous/asynchronous architectures.
Expertise in drafting interface contracts (sync & async).
Ability to design Data Models: Define, maintain, and ensure the consistency of the data model (proficiency in SQL queries).
Is a plus :
Experience in a microservices-oriented ecosystem.
Languages :
French or Dutch: Native level (mandatory)
English: Fluent (mandatory)
