Enterprise Data Architect As the enterprise data architect, you will own the program pipeline for developing our data architecture strategy, including translation of our goals and objectives into enriched data dashboards. You will define and direct SXSW London's target data architecture (inc. shared data environments, data model and standards) in support of our business strategy, ensuring that data is accurate, secure and accessible to meet the needs of senior executives and department heads. Responsibilities o Accountable for the data architecture & design, including implementation of company-wide data models, incorporating relevant governance frameworks, and architectural standards. o Develop architectural solutions resulting in a single source of truth data lake warehouse, using Power Bi with built-in AI design considerations. o Lead the design and development of scalable data pipelines and solutions, which support our event operations across our customer journey and channels. o Collaborate with stakeholders and external technology partners to promote consistent and value driven data usage. o Communicate the value of data management, through workshops and proof of concepts in partnership with business and technology partners o Develop data architecture governance and standards, regarding data models and capabilities, including ability to logically model marketing and financial data. o Connect disparate sources to provide seamless data access. o Define KPI and Metrics for data dashboard. o Map existing data sources and identity data access points. o Create dedicated stakeholder UAT group for continuous output assessment. o Build an executive dashboard. o Configure integration and workflows. o Create automation and refresh schedules. o Setup training and confidence workshops. o Integrating ML and AI into dashboard reporting Required o Deep knowledge of modern data architecture. o Experience within Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Databricks). o Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, API's and integration patterns. o Strong communication and stakeholder engagement. o 5years+ in data architecture or related fields. o Deep understanding of Information Security, alongside privacy and compliance regulations. o Proven experience in enterprise-scale data modeling. o Expertise in metadata management. o Excellent analytical, planning, organizational and technical skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. o Experience in translating complex technological requirements to an audience with minimal technical insight. This is a hybrid position based in the City of London. The position is a 6 month FTC role. The salary for this role will be around £40K - £45K. Key Responsibilities; * Architect and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms using Azure, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric for real-time and batch processing. * Lead integration across structured and unstructured data sources such as SCADA, SAP, APIs, telemetry, and time-series data using modern ETL/ELT patterns. * Establish robust data governance, security, and compliance frameworks including data masking, encryption, lineage, access controls, and regulatory adherence (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001). * Design and optimize cloud-native storage and compute architectures using Delta Lake, ADLS Gen2, Synapse, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and NoSQL for petabyte-scale workloads. * Implement event-driven and real-time streaming architectures using Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, IoT Hub, and Lambda architecture patterns. * Drive DevOps and IaC practices through automated CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions. * Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including business leads, engineers, security, and vendors to align technology with strategic business outcomes. * Implement monitoring, observability, and disaster recovery strategies ensuring high availability, system resilience, and proactive issue resolution. * Lead AI/ML and analytics integrations with Databricks, Power BI, and MDM platforms to enable advanced reporting and insights. * Mentor and enable internal teams through technical training, knowledge-sharing sessions, and architectural best practices to promote a data-driven culture. Please see below for role description and details. - Hybrid, 2 days per week on site in Swansea, Wales - Inside IR35 - SC clearance required - 3-6 months initially + longer extensions expected Role details: The team are migrating SSIS packages and SSAS cubes to Databricks and Spark Declarative Pipelines (previously known as Delta Live Tables). This is mostly SQL knowledge but some familiarity with Python on Databricks will be beneficial. SSIS and SSAS are on premise, and Databricks is a cloud solution on Azure. The client will handle the difficult elements on moving the data from on-premise to the cloud, so you will be working with data already in the cloud storage and already available in Databricks, replicating the SSIS packages. Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply.
