Role Overview

The SAP FS-PM Design & Development lead is a critical hybrid role responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, development, and support of the SAP Policy Management (FS-PM) module. This position requires an in-depth understanding of core insurance business processes (especially new business, policy administration, and claims), expert SAP configuration skills, and solid ABAP development proficiency to deliver customized solutions and ensure system efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Consulting & Configuration

• Analyze and capture complex business requirements from stakeholders (e.g., Product Development, Contract Management) and translate them into sustainable SAP FS-PM solutions.

• Transform the functional requirements into an FS-PM design

• Create detailed design and functional specifications for development objects (RICEF: Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms).

• Specify the required components and define system settings and system enhancements

• Perform system customizing across all core SAP FS-PM components, including:

  • Product configuration (Product Engine, product components).

  • Setting up and maintaining Business Processes (New Business, Changes, Surrender, Withdrawal).

  • Defining the Policy Time Model and contract structure.

  • Integration of the FS-PM tariff structure.

  • Managing interfaces to FS-CD (Collections & Disbursements), FS-ICM (Incentive & Commission Management), and FS-RI (Reinsurance).

• Conduct module, integration, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and provide Go-Live support.

Development & Technical Implementation

• Lead and guide an FS-PM development team

• Develop and modify ABAP/ABAP OO programs to implement custom requirements within FS-PM.

• Utilize and extend FS-PM-specific BAdIs, User Exits, and enhancement spots (e.g., within the Business Process flow).

• Develop interfaces (e.g., using Web Services or Proxies) to connect external systems.

• Perform technical error analysis (Debugging) and performance optimization of customizing and ABAP code.

• Contribute to data migration strategies and their technical execution.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Deep knowledge of Policy Business Processes. Expert configuration skills in SAP FS-PM. Strong understanding of integration points with SAP FICO, FS-CD, and SAP ECC/S/4HANA. Excellent business analysis and requirements gathering.

• Expert knowledge of FS-PM architecture (Policy Model, Journal, Business Processes). Experience with the Product Engine and mapping complex tariffs. Proficiency in FS-PM Customizing (configuration of business processes, screen configuration).

• Strong proficiency in ABAP/ABAP OO. Experience with FS-PM-specific development objects. Ideally, knowledge of Web Dynpro or SAP Fiori/UI5 for user interface design Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years of dedicated, hands-on experience in implementing and supporting SAP FS-PM.

  • Demonstrated expertise in both functional customizing and ABAP development within the FS-PM context.

  • Comprehensive understanding of Insurance Business Processes (Life, P&C/Non-Life, Health, or Auto insurance).
